Lovely old bridge
Nov 2019
This bridge has now been closed off by a perminant railings across the front of it ! Maybe dangerous to cross ?
But the local council need to sort this out and repair anything that needs to be repaired as this is an iconic pice of local history and should not be left to fall into a state of disrepair !

RTCcbc Useless
Feb 2019 • Family
RTCcbc closed off one of Cynon Valleys heritage without any consultation or explaination to the public. Typical high handed ways of our local authority!!!!

Excellent engineering example
Jul 2018 • Friends
Worth a look as the engineering of this bridge is quite remarkable.
It leads to a suburb of the town and is a quaint village with old houses and now dominated by an industrial area.

Roberts town old iron tramway bridge
Jun 2017 • Family
This bridge is one of the oldest bridges in the UK. It is all in its original condition. It is just off the main aberdare bypass road. The bridge would of been used for horse drawn carts to transport goods like iron or coal to and from the canal many years ago.

History on our Doorstep
Feb 2017 • Family
Must admit never realised that Tripadvisor had the local piece of history listed. I have walked along the old Tramway starting opposite the railway station and then walking up the old tram-road. I have done it a few times ending up crossing the old iron bridge and into Roberstown. The scenery around the area is about to change as the new college is being built at the start of the walk. I do not think though that people take this short route for its beauty judging by all the litter that can be found as you follow the path and river along.

Local Area
Feb 2016 • Family
I live near here and regularly walk along the tram road past the iron bridge. Would be a great little walk if it was not for the huge amount of litter, dog poo, Tesco's trollies lining the way. Also the dog poo bags which are thrown up into the trees.
Although the local council do clean it on occasion it's back in the same place pretty much straight after due to litter louts who have no consideration for the area we live in.

The Tramroad at Robertstown
Dec 2015 • Family
It is not just the Iron bridge at Robertstown it is the whole history of the rail line that passes over the bridge and extends southwards where much of the foundation stones are still evident.
