Easy drive to the viewpoint, which can get quite crowded with large tour groups. Interesting view of the Mount Aso peaks, which are supposed to resemble a reclining Buddha. Not much else other than a small restaurant and a couple of shops.

Drive the Aso milk road and finish at Daikanbo. This is a spectacular viewing point overlooking the entire Aso area. You can also learn about Volcanic Caldara

Yes it is worth a short visit and not difficult to find by car. A seven to ten minute walk up from the souvenir shop. The view can also depend on the weather.

A great place to enjoy the stunning view of Aso Mountains. There is a easy-walking trail behind restroom, will take you about 5~10 minutes to the lookout. A recommended place for first-comers.

We drove there last Dec. There were ample parking places to stop to view the scenery. We did see a building about 500m from where we stopped but did not go in. Not sure what it is.
