This was the home of the Marquis of Huxelles, built in the early 1600s. The current owners have done a magnificent job of restoring the residence. We were captivated by the beautiful furnishings and paintings - and the woodwork in each of the rooms that we visited was amazing! The current owners live in one of the palace wings and... More

We found this a great chateau to visit on our way to Cluny. It is about a 45 minute drive from Beaune and the drive takes you through quaint French villages with a few chateaus along the way. The admission of 10€ is worth it and the guided tour is very detailed albeit in French but the tour does offer... More

This fabulous castle was built in the early 17 th century by the Marquises of Huxelles . It highlights the lifestyle of the nobility of that era. Beautifuly restored and the grounds and gardens very well kept up. It was a walk back in history and our tour guide was an excellent source of information. Highly recommend this piece of... More

The exterior and the gardens are spectacular. Tour covers the time period from the 16th through 19th century and is very informative. Nice exhibit of portraits and art. It is definitely worth the trip. If choosing between the Benedictine Monastery and this, definitely choose this.

I did the guided tour with my family and everybody enjoyed it. The guide made it interesting, even for the kids. The gardens outside are amazing. They even have a labyrinth that the kids enjoyed. It's located very close to Cluny Abbey. I highly recommend it. The visit takes one hour for the castle and au least another hour for... More

The restauration of this castle is a project of two people apparently. They have restored it beautifully with a lot of care and attention for the details. Our guide was a French history student and she did a wonderful job. There was a part of the 16th century and of the 19th century. It was great to see the differences.... More

We drove by the chateau twice before we noticed it - could be signed posted a bit better! On paying 10 euro each what a sight to behold it was breath taking as you walked down the avenue of trees to the bridge over the moat. The guides were very good and knew their stuff. The gardens were a delight,... More

10€ buys you a guided tour of the chateau and free rein in the gardens, while 6€ will get you into the gardens alone. Guided tours last about an hour and are given by students who are enthusiastic and know their stuff. The chateau is still inhabited, but you get to see enough of the 17th and 19th century apartments... More

If you are on a 'chateau tour' in Burgundy this one should be on your list. It's beautiful inside and outside and gardens are quite lovely. Guided tours only! It seems they are all in French but they give you a booklet in English and will answer questions in English as well.

Visited here with friends, very nice chateau and gardens well worth a visit. Had a guided tour, tour guide only spoke French but did have English txt that you can read from. We was lucky as our friend speaks fluent French who translated as well
