I had a half day to enjoy japanese hot spring in this area. walk around 1km, i went to one of hotels in the area and it was really nice onsen facing great view of toya lake. plus, free flow drink with only less than JPY 1000. i will definitely back to this hotel if going to hokkaido again.

Dear yuyun h Thank you very much for coming to Lake Toya at this time. We are so happy to hear that you had a good time. We will keep aiming to make wonderful tourist sites which are loved by everyone. There is a Lake Toya long run fireworks display held from spring to autumn. The tunnel of illumination is held in winter. You can enjoy them all year round. We look forward to your next visit. Toyako Onsen Tourist Association

We didn't drive so we took the bus at 330yen per trip (do get a round trip ticket at the station beforehand if you have time). It is basically an area along the Lake Toya. There is spot where u can sit down n have free foot onsen bath along the stretch. Some restaurants and souvenirs shop. Probably will be good if you have a car to access to hiking trails and other sides. Fireworks is over-rated. I would think it is not worth a stay if you don't drive.

We had a nice stop here - a walk along the waterfront. We stopped at a local bakery for a pastry and coffee...but not much to do except enjoy the beautiful lake and Mountain Views

Lake Toya is an Onsen town destination with most hotels also operating at Noboriibetsu. It's a small one street small town. Activities include cruising around the lake both in the day and at night for Fireworks Cruise.

We were told fireworks display on Friday but on the Thursday that we checked in there was fireworks on Thursday - not sure if this was due to Golden Week holiday. Fireworks are repeated at different locations along the lake in front of major hotels.

Uzusan Ropeway is a great place to visit with breathtaking sceneries. There are hotels offering Free coach transfer from Sapporo Station , hence, very convenient.

I believe hot spring is not the best attractive in this place, but the view was superb. If you take your hot spring from the lake view side, it is definitely one of the most beautiful moment in your journey.

We drove to this town to soak in the beautiful scenery, and we were not disappointed. Went to the Silo observatory and looked down upon the beautiful and misty lake. Then we had a nice soak in the towns onsen, and we had one of the best onsen experience ever.
However, only one thing to caution visitors to this township when driving here...make sure you have Google Map instead of the car GPS! The GPS doesn’t work well in certain parts of town, and will make you go round the township.. it becomes very hard to leave the town and get to the freeway or major exit roads. Just make sure you have Google Map switched on and you will be OK. Enjoy the town....

I suggest if you are planning to come to toyako. U need to drive. Apart from a very nice scenery, this place doesn't have much thing to do. The food is pretty average to me.

If you are living in country like nz zealand, this is not a place that will attract the most as nz has already got places like this one.

FYI we spent only half a day there. And in conclusion if you like lake scenery, you should come. If not, don't border especially for short stay visitors.

This hot spring is approx 21 miles from Niseko and one of the best onsen to visit. The hotel has fantastic views overlooking the lake. Inside there are numerous different pools but the best is the infinity pool with panoramic views across the lake. I went with a bunch of Western girlfriends and I love the way the Japanese ladies don't stare, in fact they seem totally comfortable being naked. Even an old lady virtually asleep as she lay back resting her head on the ledge. There's even a sauna with Japanese TV in it:) Great experience - highly recommend even though it is over an hour's drive from Niseko.

Go for 2 days stay instead of 1. It will be more relaxing. Explore the lake walk slowly. The Onsen for The Lake View New Toya Hotel is located on the rooftop and open air. It's views are awesome.
