We just returned from another great time in Cayo Santa Maria area. This was the 4th time fishing for me and another great time. We caught a Tarpon, Yellow Jack and Red Snapper). Our guide was Ictriardo (spelling? ) and he was very good., all the guides are great here and will put you on fish.

Do not miss the diving opportunities with Gaviota on Cayo Santa Maria with Tomas(the instructor).I ve done numbers of dives around Caribbean for years and have to declare that some sites in CSM deserve to be seen!!! Little caves,a lot of different sizes of barracudas, nurse shark, eagle Ray,lion fish,a few groupers and much more(Galeta,Herradura,Borracho.).large boats and new (condition)gear with professional crew made my dives enjoyable.Ask Tomas for advanced experience. He is great and professional at every point!!! Every crew member put a positive and helpful effort to our dives.the only thing to consider: payment method(pre-paid package in cash!!!+@they do not dive every day(depend of number of divers, not the weather conditions).one more thing:booking procedure is happening through Gaviota representative (travel agent) in lobby, and they are not informed about schedule and anything related to diving .it took for me 3 days to catch instructor at the resort's pool to schedule my dives. But as soon as I met Tomas ,everything was top notch!

My husband and I do the Deep sea fishing every time we are in Cayo Santa Maria, it is always the highlight of our trip. We have been about 11 times and have always had an amazing time. We had the joy of fishing in Feb. of this year and again we were not disappointed. We had the pleasure of being on the boat Jiguaqua!! With Felix and Pino, great guys!!! I was injured on this fishing trip , I was cut pretty badly by a fish. I have to say the captain and his mate were top notch caring for me!! I cant thank them enough for the care they gave me!!! They were both fast acting to get the bleeding under control and got me back to the Marina quickly. They had radioed ahead and had a ride waiting for me to get me to the clinic!! Amazing guys!! I cant wait to fish with them again!!!

Excellent experience as a family with 2 young children. This was our third time deep sea fishing in Cayo Santa Maria but our first with our children. We were lucky enough to get Guillermo for the third time. He’s a great captain and fisherman. Very passionate and talented. His co-captain George was very social and great with the kids. I recommend this excursion! We went out on a calm day (check the wind forecast before heading out) and we still were lucky enough to catch an Oahu. I didn’t forget to tip but I wish I would have brought fishing gloves. If you decide to visit the marina remember to bring fishing gloves as a thank you gift. They have some but they are torn and used. The only recommendation is that they should still offer the light lunch. Last time I went fishing, a light lunch was provided, however unlimited drink are still available. If you go bring a snack. The snack bar at the marina only had drinks and ice cream sandwiches to purchase.

Did two dives for 65 cuc includes equipment I brought my wetsuit, finds, snorkel and mask. Should of brought the rest of my gear. We were using 80 aluminum tanks First dive went without a hitch- saw lionfish, barracuda, tangs and various other fish max depth 47 and did it in 50 minutes with 240 bar with 50 bar spare Second dive had problems finding a tank that didn't leak and went in with 220 bar. Same kinda of fish, but signs of coral bleaching max depth 51 feet and 50 minutes of dive. Problem came when I surfaced with 30 bar and my BCD would not inflate, it had worked when I went in .switched over to snorkel and had to swim 300 meters to boat and was exhausted when I got aboard. The latch for the hose for the bcd was partially engaged
