My husband and I signed up for the Swim with the Dolphins experience here. Would recommend this experience. Staff were helpful and friendly. Dolphin trainers knowledgeable. This excursion included a lobster lunch at the on-site restaurant.
We enjoyed the experience immensely.

My friend and I booked the Dolphin excursion from our Sunwing rep at our resort in Cayo Santa Maria. We rode the catamaran, snorkeling, snacks, lobster or pork lunch and then a 40 min beach adventure. It was a blast. I am not a fan of the constant Cuban music while at the resort and then again on the catamaran, but they finally played English music on our way back to the bus. We also had a guest appearance of Shakira while on the Catamaran named Fenix. It was hilarious. Such a fun group of guys entertained us while on this adventure. Bring extra cash if you wish to swim with the dolphins on top of your dolphin experience. I believe it was $20.

Went as a family and got to swim with K Cho, watch a dolphin show, and have a lobster lunch for $80USD/person as an excursion. Easily was the best part of our trip. K Cho was so funny and lovely and his trainer was knowledgeable and adored K Cho. You can tell they are well taken care of. They also explained to us why they are in captivity and how they are cared for daily. For an extra $40CAD cash, we were able to get all 200 photos transferred to our phones so we can share and print them. The dolphin show was spectacular. The lobster lunch was to die for, all the food being ridiculously fresh and tasty. Highly recommend the Pina Coladas when you go!

The dolphin show was great. The dolphin interaction was amazing! We enjoyed that the dolphin enclosures allowed fresh water and fish To flow through. The dolphins seemed properly cared for and not over crowded. They had large areas for them to swim, as well as interact with other dolphins. 1 dolphin was pregnant so they didn’t have her doing any flips or high jumps. The show was also very educational, I was happy with our experience, especially after seeing documentaries like the cove.
I swam with the dolphins, that was ok.
I think interacting with the dolphins while on the dock when they were in their enclosures was the most fun. They would play with you through the openings, wave, spit water etc.
Lobster lunch was great as well.

This was one of my best Cuba excursions and I would recommend it to anyone. It starts with a 30 min Dolphin swim. Groups are broken into 7 people per group. You dance, kiss, hug and touch the dolphin. You are pulled through the water while holding the dolphins fins. The Dolphin does many tricks and he even sang Happy Birthday to me!!!! After wards you get to see a hilarious and entertaining sea lion show.
This excursion is worth every penny spent which wasn’t even a lot.
Only suggestion bring cash as they do not take credit or debit cards.
Would return in a heartbeat!!!!

This was so dissappointing. I did the dolphin experience in Holguin where a group of 7-10 spent a full half hour with a dolphin, totally interacted with them, played with them, etc. Unlike that this experience was in a group of about 20 people standing in a line, the dolphin swims in front of you a few times on their belly and then on their back. That is it. Oh, if you want you can pay 10 pesos for a 30 second dolphin ride, and another 10 for a picture. In addition the trainer was not very friendly.

Only 5 cuc per person for entry. Look for a trainer and hell probably offer you to stay behind after the dolphin show for small tip 5cuc you can pet and get pictures of yourself with a dolphin. We couldn't find anyone who would accept money to get in the water with them but I dont think we talked to the right people and they were pretty busy that day. I think its 80 cuc at the gates if you want to swim with them. Theres a double decker bus that goes resort to resort stopping here and at markets only 2 cuc to get on. We took a taxi from grand memories for 10 cuc and he waited and drove us back.first he tried to charge 25 but that's nuts! And we gave 3cuc tip.

The area is netted off... aka caged off with nets. The tricks may look cool, but imagine what they must do to these animals in order to do these tricks. Lots of lack of food, maltreatment, etc... I may be a cool experience, but your support the wrong cause. Be conscious of how we treat our creatures. I went, didn't stay long and hung out in the boat with some Germans who were in same agreement. I had tears in my eyes, from knowing that these free loving creatures where being held captive.

This was our second trip here. We came April 2019 and it was great.
Came December 2019 and it was Amazing!!!!
We had a private session with Kcho the Dolphin and his amazing trainer. My son got to be the trainer and do a trick. We got way more information and all of our questions answered. We got educated on the training and care that goes into the creature's. We were shown his tooth brush and toothpaste and he showed us how the teeth are brushed how they check lungs, and take blood .Kcho was happy to show us too.
Trainer was kind and very informative.
Answered every question my kid had with the same enthusiasm!
Will definitely return after 2 great experiences. Will not eat there as the first time I was very disappointed with the food.
And wasn't happy with turtle in small enclosure but may have been an injured rescue.

Loved swimming with the dolphins. Katcho was amazing and the trainer was excellent. We spent approximately 30 mins. in the water with Katcho. You don’t have to be a strong swimmer so if swimming with dolphins is on your bucket list..check this place out.

Hi , we are going to Cayo Santa Maria with our very active 8 and 12 yr old kids. Did you book your catamaran tour/dolphinario ahead of time or once you got to Cuba? What was the cost of catamaran tour and the name of the catamaran tour you booked (if you would recommned them). What other attractions do you recommend?
Thanks, Julie

You are really better to get a cab or bus ( same price for either one ) and go there directly! It’s a lot cheaper and you can take your time enjoying the dolphins before and after the show ! You can also swim with the dolphins for extra money but it is really reasonable! The hotels have catamarans which are free , we always tip though . For around 15.00 ca you can go out snorkeling, just ask at the beach !
Enjoy , the boys will love it !

Yes you can. And they also give you the photographic option as well. Enjoy!!!
Hola para saber... cuánto te salió el tour al delfinario por persona? Gracias.

It depends on what type of experience you want. Best bet is to take a cab to the experience on your own (bus tours are crowded and more money and you are on their timetables). My husband and I took a convertible classic car to and from our hotel, did the dolphin experience, had the photographic package for my hubby and bought an adapter for charging our devices and bought 4 bottles of rum for cheaper than what it would have cost us for the bus tour for two.
