Small beach, well sheltered from the waves in a small harbour

Small beach, quite well protected from the waves, I imagine it could be very crowded at times, but wasn't when we were there.

We visited the Pedigrotta Chirch and had a couple if hours until sunset away form hectic. A beautiful rocky beach. Unfortunately we were able to dive only for about 15 minutes, after that water became very dirty and we spent the rest of the time lying under the sun. Place was suprisingly not overcrowded. I suppose because the sea was... More

Very nice beach. Sand is fine (better than at Tropea), water was temperate and calm and beach is well protected from rough surf. Only downside (true of all beaches in the region) is the ubiquitous presence of cigarette butts in the sand.

We went to the public beach under the Castle twice while in Pizzo. The beach is in a protected bay and is a sandy bottom with a gradual drop. The water was extremely clear and clean. The beach was never crowded and the sand was relatively clean, except for numerous cigarette butts. There was a hose to clean your feet... More

We came only for about an hour to this beach, but we loved it. Soft sand on the beach and in the water, no big vawes, lovely town above you. Could be crowded some times, but when we were there (weekday evening) it was quite empty.

Pizzo is a town right on the water and easily accessible from the highway. The restaurants are excellent given that they are open. When we went in June we were unable to find a pizza place that was open. We were passing through for the day moving north and one pizzeria told us to come back Sunday. This was Tuesday

It's a quaint beach in a cute area. There's isn't much space for many people on the small stretch of beach that there is. If you're going to Pizzo, go for the Tartufo dessert, not the beach. The water is gorgeous, but in Calabria there are beaches that blow this one away. A 34 minute drive away there's Tropea, which... More

Pizzo has plenty of beautiful sandy beaches with amazingly clear water! The water temperature is always so pleasant, you can swim till October and even November

We drove down from Filadelfia to one of the beaches of Pizzo and it felt like being on a garbage disposal. The water was also full with empty bottles, empty chocolate wrappers, paper and algae. Is this the way to attract foreign tourists?

Not sure what is meant by the 'spiagge di Pizzo'. There are two beaches in the town and then masses of others just nearby. One town beach is beside the station. The beach itself is ok and quite clean. The water is mainly shallow so good for children and warms up well. It's not very appealing though with huge rather... More
