Not sure what is meant by the 'spiagge di Pizzo'. There are two beaches in the town and then masses of others just nearby. One town beach is beside the station. The beach itself is ok and quite clean. The water is mainly shallow so good for children and warms up well. It's not very appealing though with huge rather ugly concrete blocks forming breakwaters and some very scruffy buildings behind. Also not much in the way of food and drink to be had there. Better is the other beach just below the castle. Out of town towards Lamezia is a long line of wide sandy beaches with some pebbles. Two or three OK lidos which hire out parasols and all have loungers made of rigid somewhat uncomfortable plastic. They need but are not provided with mattresses. Some also have deck chairs. Sea reasonably clean. Been coming to this part of the world for over 30 years and dirty sea is a perennial problem that the local authorities has ever failed to tackle properly. But these beaches are ok and definitely better than the town beaches.

A beach that is visible from the upper part of the town and Murat castle. Not astonishing in any way - just a city beach with nice view.

It's a quaint beach in a cute area. There's isn't much space for many people on the small stretch of beach that there is. If you're going to Pizzo, go for the Tartufo dessert, not the beach. The water is gorgeous, but in Calabria there are beaches that blow this one away. A 34 minute drive away there's Tropea, which I found has much better beaches. Better groomed for tourists.

We drove down from Filadelfia to one of the beaches of Pizzo and it felt like being on a garbage disposal. The water was also full with empty bottles, empty chocolate wrappers, paper and algae. Is this the way to attract foreign tourists?

Across the road from where we stayed. Small but lovely beach. Very calm & clean. Great place to relax on a hot afternoon. The children really enjoyed it & did not want to leave the apartments.

This beach was a big dissapointment, we were charged 5 euros for parking, because there is a grotto a lot of people come to visit, but we only came to refresh ourselves. The water in the first week of July was too hot, not refreshing at all & there was a lot of trash nearby. We tried to go a little bit further towards the cliffs, but the access to the sea is very bad there. There are so many better beaches nearby, this one is not worthy the parking fee. The only positive thing is the shower.
Then we moved to the PIzzo town beach, the water was not so clean & also quite warm, but the view of Pizzo was a nice touch & we had a great gelato in the marina in Casa Mastroiani.

We visited Pizzo 5 years ago and went to the city-beach. We were swimming among garbage, and beach infested with cigarette butts and garbage and other less desirable stuff.
Came by the beach again this year, just to check it out. Looks cleaner in the water, but still garbage, cigarette butts and dungs of the mentioned stuff (decorated with toilet paper...guess this is what you get when wanting to have beach but not offering necessary services). One of the effects of this is that we'll never eat in one of the restaurants too close to the beach, before the beach is closed or reach adequate human health level. Our advice: Keep away from this area! Many nice and clean beaches in the surroundings.

Very nice beach. Sand is fine (better than at Tropea), water was temperate and calm and beach is well protected from rough surf. Only downside (true of all beaches in the region) is the ubiquitous presence of cigarette butts in the sand.

Salve, noi abbiamo alloggiata villa panthea a capo Vaticano. Può trovarlo su booking! Buone vacanze!
Ciao!
Graze in anticipo
