staying in Doris' home was very comfortable and relaxing. As Doris remained in the house we knew that the home would be impeccable and first class . The breakfast in the morning of fresh coffee ,fruit, yoghurt and breads was so tasty.
We would recommend anyone looking for a place to rest to check if this hostelry is available .

The old city center is nice, very small. At the main square its the Dante's place, where you must eat the ice cream TARTUFO, the promenade at the cost ist interesting in the evening

Pizzo is an old pittoresque city. Nice for strolling and eating Tartufo.
Narrow streets, nice houses in a typical southern atmosphere.

We just came back from a lovely stay in Pizzo Calabria. We had never heard of this place before we found a place to stay here, Pizzo House, rented through Trip Advisor. The town is not hard to navigate after a first time run through. We were staying outside of the hustle and bustle, but were able to easily drive into town and sit at the Republicca Plaza and enjoy the gelato or a meal or just a coffee or wine and watch the people walk by. Walking is up or down the hilly terrain and since we have aged since our last time in Italy we chose to drive into town and fine a parking space in a free lot. Driving and walking is sometime challenging for us Americans, because the Italians sometimes use the traffic signs as suggestions, not mandatory and pass in the most unlikely spaces. And as for parking, well if there is a space of any size a small car can fit, even if it means hanging out in the street so that others need now go around into oncoming traffic. But it's Italy and you come to expect these things and we made 2 weeks of very interesting and exciting experiences, with out any problems. in our home base of quaint and convenient Pizzo. From Pizzo you can get to the major highways that will take you north or south and connect you with the 2 highways that take you across to the eastern side of Calabria. The main coastal road that takes you south to Tropea runs right through Pizzo and you're only 25 mins. from Lamezia Terme airport. The views of the sea are fantastic. I would recommend this lovely town as a must see or stay for anyone going to Calabria.

A lovely little cliff-top town, rather faded and shabby, like much in Calabria. Nice central piazza which is pretty much vehicle-free and has the usual types of restaurants and cafes along either side. Nice little side streets laid out in a pretty haphazard format across the hillside. The Castello is worth a visit and has nice views over the beach.

The traffic is pretty horrible along the main through-street, which has no pavements and is a bit nerve-wracking, but even on the smaller streets you get cars and motorbikes squeezing through.

This place is stunning! It's on a high clifftop overlooking the sea with amazing views 360 degrees. Very quite and relaxing place with narrow streets and the main piazza is very beautiful! Sea was very clear and inviting. Very worth a visit!! When there, make sure you taste the tartufo ice cream, the specialty of the place, its delicious!!

Exploring Pizzo and its narrow streets walking from the main 'piazza' to the top of the hamlet brings you back to its past. Quintessentially Italian!
