The church is small on the inside but definitely worth checking out. Amazing stone carvings. There is a nice little beach right of the church also. Great way to spend an afternoon.

A beautiful and interesting site with an interesting history, part legend part true. The sculptures in a cave, were started by a local in the 1800's. I walked from the centre of Pizzo, I wouldn't recommend this as its on a busy main road with no footpath and takes 30 minutes. Instead take a tuk tuk from the main square, which I did on the return (the lovely owners in a bar across from the steps to the church kindly called for me). Much more fun journey!

Unique place to visit... definitely get a little tourist taxi to see it as its a long walk.

Bit uneven so watch your footing.

Not so many little churches are made in the rocks. Very small, entree fee of 3,5 euro is ok, but it would be more acceptable if they would use a part of this money to keep this church in better stage!

This was our last stop on the way to the airport at the end of our vacation. What a great way to end the trip. Catch the Tuk-Tuk in Centro Storico and visit this very unique location. We were in awe at the carvings in the church.

Great story and beautiful if a little surreal. 3 euros to enter and were there for 10 mins which would have been ok if we could have seen some restoration ongoing.

I really enjoyed this "cool" (literally in a cool cave) sight. We didn't think we would find it and then boom...we saw the cars parked and manuevered down. The young man taking the fee was very helpful. He was skeptical that the statutes were really carved by the sailors from the shipwreck but it's possible.....in any event, very unique and I'm glad we saw it (Grazie to Cheryle!). Wish we could have tried the seafood restaurant too! Instead we ate Grande Firme which was pretty tastey!

I was underwhelmed by this site. I debated if I should give it a 2 rating. Nice location on the beach at the bottom of a bluff. Small church carved out of rocks, if your reading this you already know the story.

Go before tour buses. They make a visit that should be done in 15 minutes stretch to almost an hour. Pushy, rude people who think they have special rights because they are in a group.

No bathrooms down there so be prepared.

Lots of steep steps, not so bad,, it saw plenty of older folks struggling. The water is a gorgeous color and if you want go swimming.

Warning, the gangsters up top will extort you for €5 to park you car. I see little other choices.

The church was beautiful but the parking is a rip off. It cost 5 Euros to park. And we parked only for 30 min.the entry to the church is less than the parking. Park 200 meters before the parking plot.
