Hire a vehicle and see the town in 30 mins. Really good fun and a lazy way to see the place (and save you lots of steps in the process). Pizzo itself is a small town and not really worth a day but we spent a good 4 hours there and enjoyed it.

We found Anna's tour a couple of weeks before leaving to Pizzo, and we decided to go for it based on the great reviews she had. We didn't really know what to expect from Pizzo upon booking our trip, so we were really looking forward to discovering its history and secrets. Anna delivered on all our expectations and more.
She describes Pizza and Calabria with passion and love, you can feel she 'belongs' there.
Anna does not simply give a tour, she enables you to see Pizzo through the eyes of a local. She connects history, myths, religion, culture and gelato in this truly unique experience.
Highly recommendable.

We found Anna just a few weeks before our first trip to Pizzo. She answered my email questions very quickly and suggested her full Pizzo tour the afternoon of our arrival. We met the delightful Anna at the grotto of Piedigrotta. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious and our group of three generations enjoyed her easy going approach. Midway through our tour we had our first taste of the delicious original Tartufo made in the Gelateria of Chez Toi along with a demonstration on how it is made. Our last stop was at the historic Castle Murat. It was a pleasure to meet Anna and taking her tour was the highlight of our Pizzo trip.

Anna is a real find - she was absolutely lovely and an amazing tour guide for us and our 2 teenage daughters. She was very patient, and explained everything with enthusiasm which shows her love for the area. Trip was topped off by Tartufo which we will be having again! Thanks Anna!

I was in need of a guide to take a multigenerational family (grandparents, my wife and I, and our children) to a few small towns in Calabria as a day trip. Anna coordinated the entire process. Our driver was incredible, and we hit everything we asked to visit, and more.

We felt like we were guests and taken care of, not just while with the driver, but the entire time we stayed in Pizzo. Anna and her team made this part of our trip an amazing experience. This is a more rural part of Italy, and it can be difficult to plan a detailed trip from afar. I would consider Anna a necessary part of any visit to Pizzo.

It was pleasure to take the Full Pizzo Tour with Anna. She loves Pizzo with a passion and it shows in how she guides the tour. I wasn't sure how my teenage sons, 14 and 19, would react to the tour. This was no problem as Anna added her personal touch which impacted us in our unique circumstances. The Piedigrotta Church and the Murat Castle were brought to life through Anna's interesting commentary. The Tartuffo (have a look on YouTube if you've never seen or tasted one) was a beautiful treat during the tour and an introduction to the maestro Tartuffo maker added another personal touch. The Tartuffo and entry to Murat Castle are included in the tour price. I thoroughly recommend this tour.
Anna was able to give us insights and advice which made our stay in Pizzo memorable. Anna arranged an Aeolian boat tour which my sons enjoyed. It was a big day out being picked up at 6am and returning 9pm. The commentary on the boat was in Italian, German and another language I didn't understand. We all slept well that night. Thanks Anna!

Anna did a great job with her tour. First we saw the cave chapel - which we would have totally overlooked without her and then she took us to Tartufo and finally the castle. We enjoyed every bit of it. And the tartufo was worth every calorie ... but best of all were Annas’ stories. She brought each piece to live and gave us a lot of great recommendations for our stay.

Thank you Anna!

Anna was an absolute delight as she gave us a sense of immersion into Pizzo current day as well as centuries of history. She brought the Church of Piedegrotto to life for us with her passion for the story behind all of the carvings. The beach here was beautiful and would have been a perfect place to spend time after the tour if we had planned. Then the walking tour of Pizzo and Tartufo and the Castle of Murat. Hope to see Anna in our future travels...loved her stories!

If only we could meet Anna...

We posted Qs, she replied, we found out Oct is too late to meet but we continued asking for advise. This dear lady answered everything and added comments, too!

...if only we could meet Anna I'm sure we would give her a "6".

Had a wonderful tour of the 'real' Pizzo by Anna who knows and loves this town and gives fascinating insights that you could never get as a visitor otherwise. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be more than a tourist - makes you feel like you are at home in the real Italy. Looking forward to my next visit!
