Fantastic photography, modern adobe architecture and gorgeous landscape around it
Jan 2019 • Solo
To my surprise, in the middle of nowhere 3 kilometers or so from Tilcara was this world class photography exhibition. I took a taxi and had him leave me there. Fortunately the manager was heading back into Tilcara when I was ready to go, otherwise it would've been a long, shade-less walk back to town.

Beautifully curated photos from known Argentinean photographers and local Jujuy/Salta based artists.

I went through the exhibition twice to take it all in again. Great work in there. Also a bit of an oasis around it due to irrigation water passing through the grounds. Beautiful surprise. Probably best to have a car (motorcycle might be difficult on the stony road) or a mountain bicycle or have the taxi wait for you.

they also had a room filled with photography books to lounge around and view work from photographers around the world.

Stunning photography in a beautiful setting
Nov 2018 • Couples
We visited this photography museum as part of a half day bike tour with Jujuy en Bici and it was an amazing experience. Lucio Boschi who created the museum is incredibly talented and his photography of Argentina landscapes and people is stunning and very moving. The museum also had beautiful photography from other artists. The museum itself is very tastefully done in the most beautiful setting at the edge of a small village in the hills - so peaceful with the most amazing viewsl. This was a very unexpected highlight of our trip to Argentina and I would definitely recommend making a detour to see it

An art space in the Quebrada - inspired and stunning
Aug 2015 • Friends
Lucio Boschi and his wife invite you to view their art space in the Andean mountains between Tilcara and Maimará. The Museo de los Cerros (MEC) has recently been opened and is well worth a visit.
With his small but relevant collection of photographs and books, Lucio places the Quebrada Humahuaca in context. Lucio lived for almost a decade with a community of original Andean people outside Tilcara, where he observed the way communication alters perception. The photos tell his story.
The opening of such a space in this area is innovative and inspiring.
The MEC is well situated amidst a stunning landscape of surrounding mountains.
Ana Alicia, the charming guardian, guides you through the treasures of the MEC, explains its relevance and sends you off to see the view from the hillside.
The gift shop has a touch of class in its presentation of local lama wares.
The only improvement would be a café from which to sit, eat and breathe in the splendor of the area.
