We drove by this and had to stop. Captured some amazing photos. Very beautiful and peaceful. Worth a visit, a hidden gem.

This cemetery is well worth a visit if you are passing. Graves are in the hillside and decorated with colourful artificial flowers. The hillside can be climbed and great views await at the top.

Many different classes of burial are exhibited here from the multifamily tombs to the less audatious crypts. A wander around looking at the ages shows that the lives of many are relatively short.

As a cemetery buff, this one was disappointing because there didn't seem to be many older graves or stories to be told by the graves. The custom of leaving old water and coke bottles and tin cans that had fires in them made the area seem dumpy rather than sacred. Perhaps a good representation of a modern-day NW Argentinian cemetery.

This cemetery is on the hillside above Maimara as you approach the town from Tilcara. It is neatly laid out with colourful artificial flowers and provides a place for a relaxing stroll

The picturesque tombs with the spectacular backdrop of the rock formations behind make this absolutely worth a top. You can take a shot from the road or walk over to the cemetery itself.

This open-air hillside cemetery was ablaze with flowers on the day we saw it, Argentine Mother's Day. Many people were visiting and decorating graves. It was a beautiful sight in the setting sun.

Located next to Paletas del Pintor, it is a typical cemetery in the Andean region and in the Northwest of Argentina (NOA), where on Día de los Muertos it is common for families to take their ancestors' favorite foods and drinks (the same in Mexico and other countries). Latinos with surviving original culture). It is not the only one with these characteristics, but perhaps the easiest to find because it is so close to such a beautiful tourist location.
