Inserted within the Los Cardones National Park, it is an old road with signs of having been built and used by the ancient indigenous people who occupied this region. It is a visually perfect straight made without the technologies we have today. With care, you can stop to take photographs and enjoy the landscape.

We left Salta by car and drove along the steep climb called Cuesta del Obispo. After a brief stop at 3.500m to contemplate the magnificent scenery, we drove further towards Cachí. After a 10 minute drive, we encountered the world famous Recta del Tintin, a perfect straight line drawn with Inca technology in the XV century. This is an amazing 19km straight road cutting across a spell-binding valley with marvellous cactus (cardones) vegetation. What a sight for sore eyes! We highly recommend the ride!

Nice drive on a sunny day: great views over thousands of cactus with snow capped mountains in the background.

Nothing much about this place, but it is on the way between other great sites, so you will have to see it anyway.

It's a short stop on the way to Cachi or Cafayate depending on the direction you are travelling but you must stop there and contemplate the marvellous work the incas did in their time.

Running straight through the flat desert scenery peppered by cardoon cactus, this road is reputed to have been made by the Incas. So, if you are dizzy from the curves of the climb, here you will have some relief - but be careful because you will be some 10,000 feet above sea level, so the air is thin. We saw a group of guanacos not far from the road. You don't go out of your way at all to see this, because it is pretty much the only way between Cachi and Salta

I am very happy we went inside the National Park Los Cardones on the way south and took Recta del Tin Tin on the way back to Salta. If you do not go into the Los Cordones National Park, you will miss the best part...

Amazing straight road buit during the Inca's period, as part of Camino del Inca. 20km of perfect straight road. Stop there to take some photographs when there's no cars

Llegas por la ruta desde Samsung a Cachi, la recta se encuentra luego de la cuesta del obispo y atraviesa parte del parque nacional Los Cardones. El paisaje es maravilloso! No te lo pierdas.
