If you come by car, drive down to "Vågen", take the short hike around "Jørpelands holmen". From the North side you will have the best view to Solspeilet. This is the perfect little detour if visiting the Pulpit Rock :)

While circling numerous islands in kayaks, we saw Solspeilet. It is interesting and looks great where it is placed.

This is a large scale outdoor sculpture on a small island outside the town of Jørpeland. It's on the way to the Pulpit Rock, so if you're taking the ferry from Stavanger (the closest large city) I would suggest making extra time for a stop here. The sculpture resembles an Egyptian pyramid, measuring eight meters tall, and is decorated with traditional Nordic markings. It's quite a new addition to the landscape, and a great photo opportunity as well. Highly recommended.
