The first lighthouse at Gunnarshaug was lit on November 10th in 1836. From 1853 to 1873 the station consisted of three towers, and was the worlds largest at the time. Today a 34 metre tall stone tower built in 1853 is in full operation at the site. Follow the 132 steps to the top and enjoy the fantastic view of the Lista peninsula and the sea. Adjacent to the lighthouse you will find an art gallery, an information centre, a small cafe and shop, an ornithological station and two apartments for rent. The Lighthouse area and Exhibitions are open to the Public, free of charge. We do however charge an entrance fee for the Tower (NOK 40 for adults, NOK 20 for kids).

We spent the day with picnic and playing. The sun was strong and not a cloud in sight. Perfect day with my family. Highly recommended if the weather is nice.

Nice area for an afternoon walk, getting lots of fresh air. Did not enter light house. Like the animals around the light house.

Thank you for a nice review. The tower is currently undergoing extensive renovation, but we will re-open this spring. Welcome back to Lista Lighthouse!

A trip to the lighthouse is recommended. From above you have a great view of the surroundings and the see. It also gives some info on the history. Walk around and watch the animals walking nearby.

Lista Lighthouse is the quiet brother/sister of the Lindesnes Lighthouse. At Lista you can walk around and experience the lighthouse history and the sea without the crowds.

This light house i surrounded by a fantastic nature. The sea is rough and spectacular. Originally 3 lighthouses, you can see the ruins of the other two. At night the light house offers a "carusel" of light. Visit it!

A great visit to this tall lighthouse that you can climb to the top of, an ornithological exhibition, small gift shop serving hot drinks and waffles/pancakes and some pleasant, if windy, walks. Nice to climb up a lighthouse for a change and see the views...More
