Beautiful church

Geddington was an important crossroad in the medieval period and this church was very well endowed benefiting from royal patronage from the nearby hunting lodge, sadly destroyed.

The local primary school was having there annual fair day. Lots of homemade jams, and different types of soaps jewelry etc. Tombola tickets lots to win, homemade wines also. Great all around day for the family, the church had beautiful floral display, as abdominal harvest festival decor, good cup of tea and juices and of course cakes and biscuits.

The Church of Mary Magdalene is the epitome of the phrase 'Hidden Gem.' While on a trip to Northamptonshire in September of 2013, five of us stopped to view the town's Queen Eleanor Cross, the best surviving of the original 12, dating from 1294. The Church is a short walk from the square. While there we happened across a guide... More

We had a disappointing visit to Kettering (don't bother), so delighted to find Geddington a short drive away, a lovely village and church full of history and fantastic tales. The church is very worth a visit but you need to go when open and the guide is there. You find out so much more with his knowledge.

Stopped off in Geddington when we had a few days in the area. As we were looking at the plague in front of the church we were greeted by a Canadian gentleman who was opening up the church and took time out to show us round the church and explained the history of the church (and also some English history)... I just did what I never thought I would. Got married. My wife is from Geddington. We returned to get married her in a church that has over 1000 years of history. Amazing! I suggest that those that appreciate history to come and experience history. Thank you all for an amazing day that will stand in my memory the rest... More
