The Roman museum in Astorga is built around an archway which supported a raised Roman building. There are finds from the town on the ground floor and the second floor and an audiovisual show which places the artifacts in context. The museum is interesting but...More

The Romans were everywhere. This museum has many artifacts found in the area. The actual museum is built within ruins and the stonework is awesome

It's only a small collection, but it's well organised and run and very interesting. Modern, light and spacious, lots of variety, with a friendly person on the desk who puts on the introductory video. (If possible, she puts it on in a language you'll understand)....More

There is a combination ticket with the Roman Museum and the Museum of Chocolate. It is a good value. The Roman museum has an excellent introductory film and displays. Afterwards be sure to walk down the street to the excavation of a Roman villa. the...More

I'm surprised that no-one reviewed this already, given that Astorga is very proud of the Roman roots. The museum is fairly small, but quite interesting. There is a short leaflet in English, but most of what you see is either in Spanish or Latin.......there is...More
