This garden sounded so lovely, but it fell short of expectations. The rose garden is just a few bushes, and needs a good weeding. The formal garden of small hedges makes for a nice stroll but the paths are blocked off, so you can only go around the outside for some reason. The best thing: in a corner of the tiny rose garden are some steps that take you to the top of the rampart walls. You can only walk a short way, but the view is wonderful.

A lovely respite while sightseeing through the town of San Quirico d'Orcia. The manicured hedges transport you to another era and allow you to get lost in the moment. Stone ledges and wooden benches allow for you to sit back or lay down in the shade and enjoy the breeze. The wooded trails allow for great discovery and add to the era-transcending experience.

We always stop by when in San Quirico, the gardens are lovely. It is a quiet respite, but then San Quirico in general is a quiet respite from the many over crowded towns in the area. I do not know how often the exhibits change since we only come through in the summer, but have enjoyed seeing some really remarkable sculptures in the garden over the years.

This garden, dating from the 1500's is fairly large. Formal area with trimmed hedges, more nature like section also. Surrounded on 2 sides with original town wall. Very interesting to see the wall, towers and firing ports. Couple of nice overlooks to see the Tuscan countryside.

We love to visit this garden despite the fact that our son is really allergic to the cedar trees throughout the garden. It is wonderfully integrated into the town and really sets the hill town apart from others in Tuscany.

Be sure to take a look at this Renaissance garden off the main square if you are in San Quirico. At certain times of the year there may be sculptures on display. You can also ascend to walk along the walls.

We had no idea this little garden was here. In typical Italian form this garden dates back to the mid 1500's, with all of its perfectly shaped box hedging. Well worth the visit and in the summer there is plenty of shade to walk around under the low trees.

Super nice gardens on a summer day. Contemporary sculptures in addition to the traditional ones, uncrowded, plenty of shade.

This old garden is claimed to have been designed by Micheal Angelo, at least it was influenced by him. Amazing box woods. Great to see the juxtaposition of ancient and modern art! Very peaceful and though provoking. Worthy of more care than it is getting but at least it is being preserved for us.

This was a disappointment.
Just a few scraggly boxwoods that need some care. The paths were rutted, the rose garden had a single rose in bloom.
