Trekking in a harsh and wild paradise

Pouring rain, mud all over, wet up to the underwear. Nevertheless you could feel the magic power of nature. And rejoice. Great and passionate guide.

Hollyford Track has been on my bucket list for a few years, and I was excited to finally join up for the guided tour early Feb. I joined a group of 12 other hikers from across the globe, and have to say it exceeded all my expectations - we were blessed by the weather gods all 3 days of the... More

Spectacular and varied scenery. A lovely experience knowledgable and helpful guides. Rooms in the lodges are absolutely MINUTE accomodating two people in stacked bunks in a tiny room. I cannot understand why accomodation isn't improved, there is plenty of space to expand into. Food was lovely, the guide terrific. But standing in the rain, or sun or in a swarm... More

Our guide was late so half of the group delayed getting to Martins Bay on helicopter. Once at Martins Bay we all had a great picnic lunch and headed off for an afternoon guided walk to the head to see the seals. Headed back after watching the baby seals for 30 mins to meet our jetboat for a lift to... More

Excellent customer service, operationally flawless in a spectacular environment, this 3 day package was superb. Special mention to our happy, respectful, passionate guides Justin and Miki. From them we learnt of the geology of the area, the flora and fauna, our early Maori people, pioneers and todays' conservation projects. The lodge hosts were most welcoming providing excellent accommodation and meals.... More

This is a well executed three day experience run by a totally professional organization that includes a tramp down a river valley through beautiful virgin bush, jet boat rides and an amazing flight in a helicopter along the coast and up the fiord to Milford Sound. Hollyford Track people have this product down to a tee. From the very first briefing through to the final presentation of certificates at Te Anau and the return bus ride back to our Queenstown accommodation, there was nothing wanting whatsoever.
