This was an experience of a lifetime. Not only was he track and its surroundings absolutely beautiful, but the organisation of transport, meals, and accommodation was perfect. Our amazing guides were knowledgeable in all aspects of history, geography and local plant life. They shared interesting facts and amusing stories from the past. We were so fortunate to have fantastic weather - not even many bugs around, the food was incredibly delicious - all meals!! I would recommend this a a top priority - the days are long, but the tracks are well maintained and the extra touches of the jet boat and helicopter really top the whole trip off.

I could not fault the whole of the Hollyford experience. Awesome scenery enhanced by the knowledge and stories of the Maori and European settlements told by our guides Bard and Jack. We also learnt heaps about the trees and plants of the forests. The hut wardens and Chis who drove the jet boat were helpful and efficient.
Our fellow trampers were great company and we were impressed with how the young teenagers on our trip related to all ages obviously loving the experiences. Our meals were amazing. You can't enjoy this tramp hoping to loose weight! The jet boat rides and the helicopter ride from Martins Bay to Milford were amazing. Three beautiful sunny days added to our enjoyment I highly recommend the Hollyford adventure to anyone who loves to tramp.

Each of three days on the track provided new and different experiences: different environments, different vegetation, different weather different stories and different food. Only Davy Gunn brought to life in expertly recounted by Bard in stories remained constant. Kia ora Bard, Kyle, Jack Chris and all the Lodgies. Ka mau te wehi!

We were worried about being guided when we usually do things independently but we were so wrong. The best thing about this trip was the guide (Becs) and the company of the other trampers. Becs brought the area to life with stories about the early settlers and Maori. She told these stories about individual people and families with humour and knowledge and story structure! The sun shone for us and the scenery was truly unbeatable. We enjoyed the walking and the food after was so so good! The hollyFOOD experience. Hot shower and separate bedroom was great - we slept so much better than in a doc hut. Jet boat and helicopter ride exciting extras. You won’t regret doing this trip.

Seriously overpriced. The same price as Milford Track and Routeburn but one night less and 'shared' bathroom facilities. No disclosure that this is actually 2 toilets and 3 showers for 16 people!

Tramp totally padded out with guide 'chat'. A 5 hour tramp becomes 7 hours with nowhere to sit as you get endless stories are minor local historical characters and continual tree descriptions. Great if you are into this. But not if you want to tramp at your own speed, and get the the lodge to relax in your own way.

You can cruise the Mediterrean for 9 days for $500 more - with your own toilet and shower. Or spend the money staying at a nice B & B in Queenstown, National Park, Wanaka, Te Anau or similar and do day tracks and many helicopter trips.

These concession seem to have the 'glamping' market sewn up and do not provide value for money

This is a walk through valley terrain rather than over ridges and passes which was a big plus for me. The jet boat and helicopter rides enhanced the views and experiences. The variety of scenery was wonderful; beech forest, podocarp forest, river, lake, mountain, sand dune and beach landscapes. Another big plus was the fascinating social history of the area; Maori legends and the trials, tribulations and personalities of Maori and European settlers. These histories were brought to life by Suzanne’s delightful story telling voice, tone and pace. Everyone we dealt with from Hollyford Walks; the people answering the phone and emails, the bus driver, the jet boat driver, the lodge hosts, the guides Suzanne and Pam; were a credit to the company. Previous comments about the wonderful gourmet food are correct! This was a fantastic experience.

The Hollyford track ticked every box! It is such a special environment and we felt very fortunate to be able to walk through this famous trail. Our guides Bard and Claud were outstanding, knowledgeable in all fields and helpful. The huts’ staff provided nourishing meals always with smiles.
Our group was easy and fun to share our experiences with. The organisation was superb everything went to plan eg jet boat rides and the final flourish flying down Milford sound in a helicopter. Perfect !! All in stunning weather.
Thank-you Ngai Tahu

One of our top experiences in NZ. The trail team was very well organised, the staff had excellent knowledge and were flexible when it came to any problems.
We were picked up from Queenstown and taken to the trail start. For various reasons One of us couldn’t go in on the first day and so the team arranged for them to fly in on the spot later that day. The lodges are bunk beds and shared facilities but the main lounge areas and dining arrangements are excellent as were both sets of lodge hosts and our tour guide. The podocarp forest was stunning and straight out of Indiana Jones!
The helicopter ride into Milford Sound will stay in the memory for life and boat trip just kept you smiling.
5 stars guys.

Kia ora Somatoxi Thanks so much for taking the time to place a review on your recent Hollyford Track 3 Day Experience, we're thrilled to hear you found this to be one of your best NZ experiences! We're certainly lucky to operate in such a beautiful and remote part of the country and to have a very passionate team who love sharing their knowledge with our guests. We would definitely agree the podocarp forest is something special to behold, as is the scenic heli into Milford. Thanks again for your comments, we wish you safe travels. Ngāi mihi Lucy

This is a great experience in a stunning part of New Zealand. Our guides (Becs and Ellie) were awesome, giving lots of insight into both the history and the environment. All the staff at the lodges were great and the food of a very high quality. There is still plenty of walking to do (in between jet boat and helicopter rides) although the terrain is largely flat. The bird life in the forest near Martins Bay was a particular highlight - hard to hear others speak at times. We would highly recommend this trip - three days of warm sunny weather helps. Remember your swimming togs - a swim at Martins Bay is very special.

The Hollyford guided walk was one of my favourite walks so far. We had fantastic service from the company from luxurious lodges to freshly cooked meals. Our guide, Bard, made the trip. He is a wealth of knowledge about the forest, Maori history and how the geographical landscape has formed over time. I would recommend this walk to anyone who wants to learn about the forest and wildlife, while staying in comfortable lodges. Awesome helicopter ride and jet boating experience too.
