The height of these waterfalls and their beauty must not be missed.
When we went it was foggy but we got to see it again on our return from cherrapunji holiday resort from a different side so worth it.
How can 1 rate nature. It's just something u must not skip.
Before entering and paying 50per head , 1 per should go and check for visibility of falls. We wanted 200 stupidly at the main point .

These falls were part of our itinerary while traveling to meghalaya. We went in March 2020 so there wasn't any rain but still gorgeous, I could have stared and admired it for hours. Its mesmerizing, the blue pool below the falls is like a blue lagoon. Its the tallest in india, and totally breathtaking. Make sure if you see just one fall in meghalaya as there are many , this is by far the best

Supposedly the tallest plunge waterfall in India at 340m, the falls were a great sight even in early November with plenty of water. Very easy access to view the falls, just a few metres away from the parking. The pool at the bottom f the fall is an incredible blue green colour. On a clear day, the blue sky and the falls with the backdrop of the vertical cliffs and the lush green foliage makes an unforgettable picture.

This place has one of the most beautiful view a waterfall can have. You cannot go to the bottom of the waterfall but the view from the top the cliff is mind-blowing.
Pls reach before 2 to enjoy, as the evening approaches clouds will get accumulated in the valley and you will not be able to see anything. Mind you the clouds gather very quickly, within an hour

These falls are really quite spectacular and a real feast for the eye, when they are in full flow. Luckily it had rained for a few days before we saw them, so they were really quite full of cascading water. The full majesty of these very high falls is quite a sight to behold!

Cherapunjee (Sohra) is filled with so many beautiful waterfalls . Nohkalikai is another such beautiful falls located in the Nohkalikai village. There is good space for parking your vehicles and there is a small fee as well . This falls has the best view during monsoon otherwise the water in the falls is quite less and is not so impressive. There is no way to go close to the falls . There is a nice path put together like board walk with some spots for taking pictures and you can get the best views of the falls from here . There are lots of shops for shopping as well where you can local souvenirs !

We went to Nohkalikai on an early October morning, the jungles were still lush and there was sufficient water in the falls. The view is amazing with jungles all the way to the horizon and the roar of the waterfall echoing. There were also small food stalls and shops, though not many tourists. Could see a lot of long Cinnamon barks being dried in the sun. The place also has a nice signboard that describes Cherapunjee as 'one of the world's rainiest places.' A small stairway leads to the bottom but abruptly ends midway in the jungle below. Can go down below but it is advised to be careful as the stone stairs sometimes feel loose or broken.

We visited this place on 7th of March'20. Were lucky as the cloud disappeared as soon as we reached the view point. For about a KM or so we drove through thick cloud with almost zero visibility. All the vehicles were having their distress lights on, scary to say the least. One spent a few moments thinking about the sad story of Likai.

One the highest falls in the entire region and maybe India. The view of the falls is mesmerizing. When we visited it was foggy and the view was not clear. However as the time passed the fog cleared and we got clear view of the place including the water body beneath the falls. An experience worth remembering. There are multiple view points for the fall and its good to see the falls from all the view points to get the best click.

Our guide was Stevensons brother, sorry I forgot his name, but he was an amazing chap, so helpful and nature conservist, he & his brother both picked up trash thrown by tourists all throughout the trek. Coming to the falls, the trek is quite interesting and challenging when you reach the bottom. A wonderful place, must visit.

How to reach the mouth of Nohkalikai falls from Shillong ? Does it have to be covered via Nongriat trek where the rainbow falls is ?
Written February 25, 2020
We did not attempt to go to the mouth of the fall. Viewed it from the other side of the fall where most visitors go.

I am visiting meghalaya on april 12 th with kids will there be water in waterfalls, which other waterfall is worth visiting in april,we r coming from bangalore
Written January 15, 2020
Well, water will be there but not very much at that time. There are some other waterfalls nearby viz. Seven Sisters Falls, Elephanta Falls etc. As rainfall in Cherrapunjee has been drastically down except during rainy season....chance of huge water volume is very less in mid April.

How much trek time required to reach here?
Written September 15, 2019
You dont have to trek to watch the waterfall... You can see the beautiful falls just 3min walk from parking area

Will we be able to go near the pool? How can we reach there? Is there a stay near by the plunge?
Written May 8, 2019
I found a stair towards down. I thought it will take me to the bottom. But the stair is finished after around 100 steps, which might be less than 20% of total height! And you will get the same view as like from top. So there is no meaning to go down these 100 steps!

Hi Guys ..could you let me know the approach to this place.I am planning to travel with my parents who are 60+ ,is there proper road approach for vehicles or walking is a must? Thanks
Written January 8, 2019
Yes, it's very much near to Sohra or Cherapunji. One can take Sumo on shared basis or your own vehicle, which can go straight to the point and anyone can just step up at pavement and see the fall.

I want to do noh-kalinai waterfalls trek. I want to go there directly from Guwahati and want to return on the same day. Is that possible? Pls suggest with approximate cost of the cab.
Written November 10, 2018
Hi, it is good you are planning to go all the way to Sohra to view the falls. But then just the falls alone in this season ,at be disappointing. Having done the distance there are many other scenic spots wort a visit along with this falls and doing this just in a day from Ghy back to Ghy is too tiresome and taxing. It’s a good idea to make a night halt in sohra town that has plenty of home stays. So do reconsider the trip as it’s too cramped in a day. Make it at least two days and add n a few other places in close vicinity to the falls.

Has anyone visited here at sunrise? Timing is from 9:00, but is there any way to visit in early morning?
Written July 28, 2018
Well, when there is a time assigned, they may not allow anyone to come in before that, that is officially. From its location, I can tell you that it is perched inbetween the mountains and hence, may not offer an alternative route to reach either. Your best bet may be to connect with a local like a local guide or the hotel desk where you plan to stay and check if there are other spots, on the other side of the mountain - which can offer a great view of the sunset.
