This is one of the most fabulous museums I have visited. The displays and explanations are so well done. Learning about the Nagas was an interesting and educational 2 hours!

It is rather small, but a good museum to know about 14 tribes (out of total 28 I think) of Nagaland.
Didn't like the painting gallery.

Kohima Museum is nicely maintained. Display units are excellent, well lit and with good description. Varieties of display materials and models depict the Naga history and culture explicitly. Fabrics, clothing, ornaments and traditional huts, head-gears for different tribes are nicely displayed in the museum. This is a must visit place of Kohima.

This museum is located in the heart of Kohima City. It contains very informative exhibits. I feel that it is the best place to visit in Kohima. The Government has taken efforts to ensure that the place is clean and all the exhibits are properly lighted and gracefully presented.

Unfortunately, the locals and the taxi drivers discourage you saying that there is nothing great to see here, which is not true.

Fee is INR 5 per person. It is closed on Sundays.

I’m not generally a fan of museums, but this one is very well presented and tells so much about the lives of people of the 14 Naga tribes. There’s even a tea room outside.

This is a small museum located about 2km from the centre of Kohima and specialising in Naga culture. One of the more interesting exhibits is the necklace of human skulls from the headhunters in far eastern Nagaland. Also interesting for the exhibits on Naga cultural wear. Foreigners can enter for the same price as locals. Worth a visit.
