If you or your kids love old trains, the Railway Museum is a must see.

Stretching over ten blocks from the Marina to the pedestrian shopping/bistro street Aristomenous, the complex includes engines and rolling stock from the Grecian Age of Steam.

A little run down, it is past its heyday of the ‘80’s which only means there won’t be crowds. The passenger station has been converted to a snack bar; there are playgrounds for the kids and several reflecting pools in a garden park setting.

Among the sculptures, especially poignant is the monument to the heroic WWII ANZAC seaborne evacuation at the Kitris street entrance. Described by historians as the second Dunkirk of the war, the event is remembered in an annual solemn tribute held by the remaining veterans.

Read the mixed reviews on here and thought of adding my 2 cents. I was positively astonished to find a completely random railway park in the middle of the city with no purpose whatsoever. Normally one had to pay money to see old trains and here they are just left by themselves. I agree there does not seem educational purpose but it is not a museum so it doesn't have to. I find it quite ingenuous how they used old trains as mere scenery to a park and cleverly converted the old train station into a cafe. I agree though that it is a little sad that there is no maintenance but again, if there is no revenue because it is a park not a museum it is not surprising. There is not a lot of money for this type of thing here. And it is ok. I very much enjoyed strolling through this weird attraction!

It was interesting to walk around looking at the trains. I don't remember any information signs giving context to the displays, but they were nice to look around.

Kids would love this area and I can imagine it would be so much better to explore when it wasn't the height of summer!

We walked through here after parking up by the marina to walk into the centre,i suppose it could be a really nice place if a bit of TLC was undertaken to remove the graffiti and exhibit the trains and carriages with a bit of information but sadly it looks a wee bit downtrodden and neglected.
On the positive side the play area for the kids looked busy and the welcome shade of the trees was nice, not sure it would be a nice place to wander late at night though.

The Railway park has a somewhat sad feel to it, with several rusting engines and a few carriages, but it is fun to wander around (and above on a footbridge). Very nostalgic feel and worth a visit when strolling from the centre of town to the beach or port.

Excellent for long walks, decent, clean, safe. The old trains are accessible to children and they can have lots of fun. Highly recommended.

Some graffiti damage but most engines accessible. Lack of any visible information on exhibit may have been my lack of diligence in searching, but can be greatly improved as most people (like me) have no idea what they are looking at.

Set back about 150 metres from the inner harbour this is a nice area of greenery where you can grab a coffee or a cold drink and also have a look around some historic steam trains and rolling stock. Kids will be particularly impressed as they can get really close to the exhibits. From time to time it is a venue for events and when we visited it was hosting a flower show.

Great idea but Not well executed. The wagons are not maintained imposing various health and safety concerns for young kids. Doubtful if they have ever been cleaned. The trains firm part of the Greek and world industrial heritage and deserve basic maintenance.
