This museum in downtown Rajshahi has a great collection of statuary. Unfortunately, there are so many pieces of great quality with so little explanation that you can be easily overwhelmed. Nonetheless, it is a great museum with lovely gardens outside. Of note, no photographs allowed.

Indeed this place is one of the best museum of Asia. A well kept place, lot of valuable and historical artifacts. One can learn history of ancestors how they used to live here before thousand years. This place is well located just at the heart of Rajshahi city.

A very interesting museum within Rajshahi University, with more than 10 rooms-galleries.
Archaeology: Indus Valley seals, terracotta cups, figurines and idols. Sculptures: Hindu deities in stone, lingham in basalt, Shiva Nataraja in bronze. Buddhist relics (Buddha, Bodhisattva, stupa miniature models). Muslim architecture (stone mihrab). Mughal Empire artifacts ( weapons, shawls, fez, clothes, musical instruments, traditional carpets. Inscriptions Gallery: stone panels with writings in Sanskrit, Brahmi, old Bengali, Arabic and Persian.
A visit to this museum is a journey across time and many civilizations.

The biggest asset of the museum is the statue of God Surya as no other museum has this big number of different type and size. The building is been built by some philanthropists to [reserve the historical findings of the area on 1900 s .A huge collection of sand stone sculpture and coins many could not be displayed because of gallery space said by the director .A must see place at Rajshahi
