There's a few stairs up the church but if you take your time and rest, the views are spectacular of the bay and sea below. The church is small and will take 30mins. There is a small shop to buy religious articles and a small cafe at the bottom car park no cost for parking first come first serve

Came here last week with my son as we were staying within walking distance. What a beautiful little church – the interior was a delight and the surrounding trees layered in colourful ribbons were gorgeous. The view was also stunning and we stayed until sunset. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We found free parking where the stairs to the top starts. One has to climb quite a few of these stairs to reach the chapel which was built in 1984.

The inside contains a few paintings and is nice to have a quick look at.

The view from the top is quite nice. Free to visit.

The Church at Ayias Elias in Protaras isn’t one for those who have mobility problems. I counted 164 Steps to reach the summit and the Church itself. Mind you once there it’s a lovely old Church and the views across Protaras and beyond are spectacular. There is a Refreshment Kiosk up top, so at least you can get a well earned drink and relax of one of the few seating areas. There is access to Free Fresh Drinking Water as well.

It’s a beautiful little church on top of the hill and requires going up by steep stairs but on my POV it’s worth. You can visit inside as well even if find the doors closed you can open(always unlocked) and visit it. The view from there is beautiful.

We walked up there to watch the beautiful sunset. The stairs are quite steep and the handrails are not all the way round but the views are worth it.

There is a small cafe at the bottom but the time we went up it wasn’t open so take a drink with you.

There are ribbons/notes tied to trees to remember loved ones who are no longer here 💔

This is a photogenic small church on top of a small hill in Protaras. If you do not have mobility problems you will not have a problem getting up in less than 5 minutes. From the top you can see the who;e of the Protaras area. Although there is no padlock, if you try and enter the church you will trigger an alarm which lasts a few minutes but then goes off on its own.

We popped here on our last day of our holiday. The church is a simple but beautiful spot for a few moments of quiet contemplation. The walk up the steps is a bit demanding especially in the heat, but really worth it for the fantastic views of the area. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a must if you're in the area.
The church itself is very tiny but absolutely beautiful inside and out.
The views from the church are breathtaking. To see all the ribbons and things tied to the trees, bushes, and handrails in memory of lost loved ones are astonishing.
There are around 160 steps to climb to get to the church and no way to get disabled people up so, not ideal if you have mobility problems. You can also make a small donation and light a candle in the church which lots of people do. Well worth a visit.

Hello you lot! I know I’ve been away for what seems like ages, but now I’m back and in Cyprus. My wife and I visited this wonderful little chapel/church atop a hill last night for the sunset, which we’d heard were fabulous. It was indeed and we just made it to the top In time to take some photos. Inside, it’s typically Greek Cypriot in style, but cool and welcoming. (Don’t forget to close the door). You can get great pics from any side of the church and the views are amazing. I would think during the daytime they’d be even more stunning.
