We had Pablo as a tour guide, he was very knowledgeable. He spoke to everyone in English and translated for us in Spanish. The cave itself is a must see! Beautiful! Worth the price.

Based on internet reviews I was expecting a touristy cave tour. However this is an INAH archaeology site where folks have been living continuously for 10,000 years. Human remain, rock art, singing stalactites, a fort. This site if very educational. You have to go in with a guide and haggling the price is needed. I paid 500 peso and I was a group of one. Others say it is a 1.5 hour tour but we got done in 45 minutes and saw everything.

After checking out the advice from fellow travelers here on Trip Advisor, I went in prepared to drive a hard bargain. It is about150 pesos each plus 30 for parking PLUS YOUR GUIDE. They originally tried to hit us up for 400 pesos EACH and we laughed in their faces. We've been in grutas all over Mexico and that is way out of line. We agreed to 100 pesos each, so don't pay more than that. Also, they're lying if they say they're rushing the tour because the lights are on a timer. We saw no evidence of that, and we took our time. Martin was a decent guide, and pointed out some petroglyphs and drawings we would have missed otherwise.

I visited this place with 5 others and we had a tour conducted by a man named Pablo. He was fantastic. He gave us information about the place, the history, the customs, etc., which made the tour even more interesting. The caverns themselves are quite extensive. The walking can be treacherous in places, but with decent footwear (not flip-flops!), one can get around easily. The guide also has a flashlight (torch) that helps. If you brig your own light, I recommend a headlamp, because it keeps your hands free. The natural beauty of this place is astonishing, and it is a wonderful way to offset the visiting of pyramids and temple above ground. I have read other reviews that mention certain guides who were not so good, but with our guide, Pablo, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of these caves.
