This is a desert area of a 1200 meter mountain very close to the sea, when you go up the views of the sea are really worth it. We did a 3 hour hike starting by the Information center. Bring water with you.

We made several trips to this natural park in the mountains, the views of Benicassim are spectacular. The winding road through the mountains let you passed through old monestaries and great places to eat. There many many hiking trails but the silence and the sun shining on your face is great! The entrance is very close to town and when you exit there is another wonderful monestary to hike too, with picnic tables.

Drive from Benicassim up into the mountains to look down on the old monastery and the bays of Benicassim and Castellon. Go on a clear day, smell the pines, climb the rock formations and admire the views.

Lovely view from the top, shame the old monastery has a fence round but some lovely walks, they say the main road to the top is a cycle route but I would do it

Rides all amazing through the park in different directions:

Ride 1 benicassim and up into park via steeper side (5-7%) on main roads
Ride 2 out to oropesa via via verde and into cabanes and back to benicassim - tiny roads but beautiful
Ride 3 back towards main benicassim then up into the park - easier side <5%

All on Garmin routes. Cars very patient and pass with care. Lots of bikers out - roadies and MTB.

We spent a tranquil morning away from the hustle and bustle of Benicassim. After driving up the long winding road to the car park at the top of the parque. We wandered down to the deserted Abbey and marvelled at the construction.... How did they manage to get this built up here? Beautiful area for reflection and meditation so quiet and peaceful. The views are amazing, you can see the coastline of Benicassim and Castello. We didn't visit the cafe as it was closed but it looked lovely for refreshments.

Took a drive up into the mountains and parked up near the monastery. A short walk along the road and then across a ridge (regular signposts point the way) to the ruins of Montornés castle. A fairly easy walk with rugged scenery and some really interesting ruins to explore. The whole area is fantastic with miles and miles of walks. Well worth a drive up (follow the road and it takes you back down again further up the coast) even if you don't get out and walk. There a couple of well regarded restaurants near the top, with a wonderful view and good food.

While camping in Benicassim we had a drive to this desert. The views are amazing we found somewhere to stop near the top to have a proper view of the town. Well worth the trip.

A winding road takes you up to a parking spot to get out and just look at the amazing views down to the sea. There are pathways to walk, old buildings to marvel at and restaurants to eat at. After that drive on down to Castellon for shopping or the sea.

Take an evening drive up to the top of the Parque.. the views are stunning (not for the faint hearted) Be careful as the road is quite winding and you don't want to go off the edge :D
