Took a Great Tour
May 2019 • Family
Didn't regret one bit taking a motorboat tour with our 3yo. Brazil Trip Tour provided a very knowledgeable local guide who stopped along the way on banks of the Contas River (Rio do Contas) to let us touch crabs, explained the different mangrove trees and gave us fresh oysters from the mangroves. The waterfall itself was perfect for a refreshing swim, relaxing in the sun, tasting some locally made chocolate. Was a great half-day (roughly 8.30-1 door to door).

Nice for a visit

This waterfall is not very big, but you can spend some time here. The water is not cold as most waterfalls. The trail to the waterfall is not easy but it is short. You can get there only by boat, which leaves from the Coroa Beach. You have to pay about US$ 5 to visit (per person) plus US$ 20-25 per person for the boat.

A surprise

We went by boat and this is a very humble place with a post where you can by Cachaça ( local destilado of Cane ) , Chocolate & banana sweets ( bananada ) I think this place need a little of physical effort , but my group was well over 50 years and no complaints. Enjoy the vegetation , the local red crabs , a lot of shadows and CLEANDO WATERFALL, that is very tame

A piece of heaven on earth
Jan 2016 • Couples
The trip to get there is an adventure apart, the place itself is a private property where the owner (Mr. Cleandro) greets you with a variety of naturals products for sale that are made in his property.
He is a delightful person, who is willing to let people into the trail for mere R$10 (about 3 dollars right now).

The waterfall isn't tall but is is beautiful anyways and the strong water reinvigorates you.

if you want to take a break from beach life.... get into a small motorboat or canoe and get up the river, feeling like you are in another world, passing mangrooves full of crabs, to get to Cleandro waterfall where you enjoy the fresh clear water leaving all your stress and worries behind.

Nice waterfall with good natural pools to swim

You can easily find a native at the harbour who could take you there in a small canoe.
Negotiate the price first. You have to go up the Rio das Contas to get there. The river ride by itself is already amazing.
Bring some spare clothes, food and water if you are in a short budget. Once you arrive the place is beautiful, but has little infra-structure. You can ask the tour guy to take you to some nice restaurants along the river shore before you get to the waterfall place.

Wonderful romantic canoe trip
Dec 2011
the river Rio de Contas reminds me of the Amazon, and the arrival at the Cocoa farm through the mangroves on a genuine canoe, made out of one tree, is like in a movie. The waterfall is inmidst the jungle and has a nice pool with refreshing water.
