Kherua mosque is located to Sherpur District 1.5km away from Dhunot Dhaka highway junction point.A motorable road takes through calm and quiet villages. It is a small mosque with boundary fence. Approximate length is 58 feet and breadth is 24 feet. Some fakir Masud planned and made by Mirza Murad Kakshal an influential ruler in 1582.Three big beautiful dome is on roof. The mosque was built by bricks and lime.A plaque is pasted on the front wall where information about mosque is given in Farsi language.Best part of the mosque is calm and quiet environment with orchard.Front space is kept vacant for prayer congregation.I wonder this place must have been a city or administrative centre otherwise mosque wouldn't have been built.

One of the Mughal made Moque

one of the earliest Mughal mosques that were built in Bengal, is situated in Sherpur of Bogra district. It was built at a time when Sultani era was at its end and Mughal era had just set in. According to the inscription found in the mosque, it was built by Nawab Mirza Murad Khan, son of Jawahar Ali Khan Kakshal, in 1582 AD

The mosque is just around 14 kilometer apart from the Sherpur town of Bogra. This historical place is very easy to find out by asking local people. But problem is, there is another mosque, called "Sherua" just few kilometers apart from it, which is almost similar to hear when anyone pronounce it. So careful that local people understand what you pronounced, otherwise you'll redirect you to the nearest mosque.

The scenic beauty is awesome this area.

It was built at a time when Sultani era was at its end and Mughal era had just set in. According to the inscription found in the mosque, it was built by Nawab Mirza Murad Khan, son of Jawahar Ali Khan Kakshal, in 1582 AD (989 Hijri). The village is really wonderful for its scenic beauty. Also there are many visiting places in Sherpur Upazila, like Mosques, Temples.
