The 200-year-old floating market at Bhimruli in Jhalakathi has become a tourist spot. Guava floating market is a unique market. Hundreds of tourists from home and abroad visit the place every day to enjoy the beauty of the market and its surrounding landscape.

Trust me, you would love to visit the Guava Market at least once in a lifetime. But it’s difficult to reach there due to it’s geographical location and bad road conditions. It took almost 90 minutes to reach there with my personal car. If you’re travelling from outside, it will take long. Also carry water and dry food with you. Fresh water is not available over there as it’s a rural place surrounded by river. Take a boat when you reach there and be there before 9 AM. The market starts at 9.30 AM and ends as soon as the local sell off their Guavas.

I would have missed out on so much beauty if I decided not to visit this place. Thanks to my friend who kind of motivated me to get there and then I was the one who didn't wanna come back from there. Well, this is a very colorful and unique place where they bring Guavas from all the nearby gardens and are sold in the floating market here. It is just an hour away from Barisal city and getting here is quite easy. The villagers are very welcoming and the boats are quite available.
There is a section of this market that sells ready made boats too. Do visit it if you have time. Absolutely recommended.

A nice place for walking and meet with local people after the huge busy cities like Dhaka or Chittagong.

Is there any point in going there during the month of February? Since most people on the internet have said that they have been there during the monsoon.

Not much, because the canals get filled with water during monsoon and monsoon is the season of guava and the famous floating market
Thank you for your quick reply,
Mr Anik_Rahman! Your reply will be so much help for me.
Could I ask you a bit more?
*Is "Hatem Ali" name of cross road?
How can I get there by launch ghat??(I couldn't find the exact place on google map...)
*How much will it cost to hire a small private boat for 1day? Do you think it's difficult to hire it by myself not speaking Bengal language? Or is there someone who speaks english?
*I want go back to Dhaka by the over-night launch in the same day I arrive Barisal.
How can I go back to Barisal city after I look around these multiple markets?
I wonder how to go guava market from Dhaka... I researched in internet but the information is a little bit confusing...
Are there some markets around this area? Swarupkathi, Atghar, Vimruli...Is it possible to look around these places in a day? Is it possible to hire small boat and access there from Barisal(or some other place) ?

Hey Minami,
Welcome to Bangladesh in the first place.
Well first you have to get to Barisal city which is in the central south of the country. You can either take an overnight bus or an overnight mini cruise journey (its called Launches here and don't worry they aren't expensive.). Once you're in Barisal town, go to the Hatem Ali Chowrasta (Four Way) and you gotta take those tiny vans that can take you up to the Market itself. Good luck and lemme know if you need any help.
Oh and yes there are multiple markets in 2 hours vicinity. Atghor and Kuriana are the same place but Bhimruli is about 40 minutes of river journey. There is s boat market there too.
