We very much enjoyed the informative and interesting tour of Canaan, an organisation with high quality products and a crystal clear vision that is overcoming considerable obstacles to achieve impressive results. Lamis was a superb guide, and getting to try the great products at the end sealed it for us!

The tour, though, was just the beginning of an unforgettable few days for us. Canaan organised for us (a family with three young children) to stay with two farmer families in the Jenin area. It is difficult to convey the extent to which these families went beyond hospitality to take us into their lives for the time that we were with them - incredibly generous not only with their homes and time, but with themselves. As well as being a truly lovely few days (with incredible food, needless to say), it was an invaluable opportunity to learn more about the realities of everyday life for Palestinians, the impact of the occupation, and the remarkable resilience of the Palestinian people.

Despite formidable workloads, Canaan staff (Manal and Mohammed in particular) bent over backwards to accommodate our visit, were very responsive, flexible and professional.

We highly recommend this to anyone who has the opportunity to visit the West Bank.

Thanks to Lamis for a wonderful tour. Canaan Fair Trade is a must-see stop for tourists but they are supporting organizations like mine to ensure that women are economic contributors and change makers in their communities.

I learned so much about fair trade, olive oil & olive products and land during my stay with Palestinian farmers organized through Canaan Fair Trade. I now love and appreciate olive trees like never before - so much work goes into the production of olive oil and I grew to admire the farmers and their families for continuing these centuries-old Palestinian traditions and way of life.

We had such a wonderful time getting to know our tour group and meeting the wonderful families who hosted us throughout the West Bank. All we met were so warm and welcoming, the food was wonderful, the experiences educational. There is hope in Palestine. You must experience it.

Canaan Fair Trade sells olive oil and other delicacies produced by over 1,700 small farmers, organized in village cooperatives and represented by the Palestine Fair Trade Association (PFTA). They supply bulk as well as finished and packaged olive oil and other goods to Europe, North America, Australia, Asia and the Middle East. Our olive oil and all of our products come with a Palestinian Certificate of Origin. A large and growing portion of them are certified Organic.

We did a homestay in one of the neighbouring villages (Kufr Dan) organised by Canaan during the harvest of 2015. It was a fantastic experience, an immersion in Palestinian culture and the place of olive farming within it, and a great chance to support this industry which struggles due to the occupation. Well worth considering on your itinerary if you are going to be in Palestine during the olive harvest (Oct-Nov).

The best location for eco-tourism in Palestine, it will make you understand the value of Palestinian traditional farming and how important it is to preserve these traditions.

Managed to get in on the second attempt, first time just turned up on a Saturday and helpful guard but unable to get in. Second time phoned ahead and had a really informative visit. Collective for hundreds of Palestinian olive farmers that sell at Fairtrade prices, (including Oxfam shops in uk). Some wonderful flavoured olive oil (lemon, thyme, basil etc) and their almond based products under development. Well worth an hour or two and easy to combine with the leper church at Burqin.

I just returned from an awesome visit to Palestine and much of the arranging for it was done with the help of tours@canaanfairtrade. They hooked me up with a 7-day tour of the northern West Bank which was very educational from both an agricultural and a socio-political perspective. And since I wanted to pick olives for more than the one day allotted on the tour, they also arranged for me to stay with a very welcoming farm family for several days, and I picked olives to my heart's content! I could not have done any of this without the help of Canaan.

Accommodations were very good. Canaan is easy to reach from Jenin by taxi.

Palestine is a very hospitable place and I will never forget the wonderful people I met both at and because of Canaan Fair Trade.

The folks at Canaan Fair Trade organized an excellent tour and tasting for our group visiting Jenin for the day. It was very interesting to learn about the history of their operation, how the processing of olive oil happens and the post tour tasting was delicious. We really enjoyed our visit. To top it off, and typical of Palestinian hospitality, a staff person offered us an escort back to the highway since we got a bit lost on our way out!
