Great Beaches
Aug 2020 • Family
What a good area. You find the best beaches of France in the area of Erquy! At a sunny day you could even believe it is the Cotes d’Azur. What a place

great hike, must do when in Erquy
Jul 2019
I'm not a hiker, but this hike was great. Starting from the harbor, climbing the stairs, finding hidden ponds, and then the winding hike with some historic ruins on the way. As you get further there are some pretty beaches as well. A must do, but be aware that it is an active hike that requires good walking shoes and large parts are on rocky and jagged pathways. Not for small kids or elderly.

Fabulous bracing walk

Accessible from GR34, this is a beautiful viewpoint surrounded by wildflowers and pretty beaches. The path is well marked from the port but quite a challenging walk in the wind- poles may be useful!

This town was beautiful and the beaches
amazing. We did not see another British person. Prepare for the fact that no one speaks English which made our visit challenging but very enjoyable. We will definitely come back here again.

Great views for minimal effort
Jun 2019 • Couples
We walked to the cap from port of Erquy - only takes about 40 mins at strolling pace. Up the steps at the far end of the port and then enjoy the views all the way to the cap. Carry on past the cap for a couple of lovely beaches and dramatic views across to cap Frehel.

Scenic viewpoint
Jun 2019 • Couples
After visiting Cap Frehel, we stopped by briefly to enjoy more views of the emerald coast. There was a small free parking area, where we managed to park our car and then explored some of the trails. Glorious views all around.

Gorgeous

My wife says it’s the most beautiful place in the world. We were there on a gorgeous summer Saturday, and there were only a handful of people at this gorgeous spot. I’m dreaming of a return.

Absolutely breathtaking
May 2018 • Family
We were staying at Les Pins campsite nearby and decided to take a coastal walk as a family (12 and 9 year old) having heard that Brittany’s coastline needs to be seen to be believed! We were not disappointed! We asked about paths in Erquy tourist office and the staff were very helpful, recommending the Plages Sauvages trail in particular, advising us to stick to the names on the signs rather than the colours of the trails - on the maps the different trails are different colours, but on the signs they’re all yellow for some odd reason! The walk took us up on to the hilltop right next to the most stunning scenery of little harbours, an emerald seascape and incredible beaches as well as a hidden lake. The weather started to turn so we took a shortcut back (well sign posted and easily found) but we spent a good two hours exploring the beautiful landscape and scenery. There were some rocky bits, but I would say that the walk is easily doable for able bodied people. There are well signposted alternatives for wheelchair and buggy users. Highly recommended if you’re in this area.
