My wife says it’s the most beautiful place in the world. We were there on a gorgeous summer Saturday, and there were only a handful of people at this gorgeous spot. I’m dreaming of a return.

We were staying at Les Pins campsite nearby and decided to take a coastal walk as a family (12 and 9 year old) having heard that Brittany’s coastline needs to be seen to be believed! We were not disappointed! We asked about paths in Erquy tourist office and the staff were very helpful, recommending the Plages Sauvages trail in particular, advising us to stick to the names on the signs rather than the colours of the trails - on the maps the different trails are different colours, but on the signs they’re all yellow for some odd reason! The walk took us up on to the hilltop right next to the most stunning scenery of little harbours, an emerald seascape and incredible beaches as well as a hidden lake. The weather started to turn so we took a shortcut back (well sign posted and easily found) but we spent a good two hours exploring the beautiful landscape and scenery. There were some rocky bits, but I would say that the walk is easily doable for able bodied people. There are well signposted alternatives for wheelchair and buggy users. Highly recommended if you’re in this area.

Like many of the headlands on this coast this walk is very scenic. You can walk up from the port of Erquy (trail head near the Crie) so you can avoid having to drive, and, come back for a drink port side. Very nice trails with great views of this lovely part of the world.

The Cap d'Erquy is stunning. The walks has been amazingly well done. Easy to follow, accessible with children *(no Prams) & well photos says so much more.
Free activity for everyone.
Don't forget swimming suits & microfiber towels ... to enjoy the sea on the way :)
If you want the Cap d'Erquy walk is part of the bucket of walks available at the tourist information center of Erquy (3€) [See photo]
A leaflets is also available to have information about the area of the Blue Lacs (Les lacs Bleus). Ask the tourist information center :)
A large parking is available at the starts of the walk (with dry toilets).
Free activity for everyone.

Beautiful coastline and lots of shellfish and rock pooling for children. Erquy is small but has a good market on a saturday. Supermarket and a lidl. Great beaches. Lots to visit nearby

I visited Cap d'Erquy with some friends on a geology field trip in Brittany in April 2016. It is a beautiful place to go for a walk, over the rocks and along the perfect beaches. The area is also home to some amazing Jurassic pillow lavas that are well worth looking at. Definitely worth a visit!

The north coast of Brittany has many fine features. The bay and headland at Erquy is certainly one of them. On a sunny summer's day, the views of boats, the sea and rocky outcrops are definitely worth the visit.

I love the little bays and the pink granite stones used for houses. I've been there in autumn as well as spring, it's lovely at all times I think.

D'après ma copine, les chiens ne sont pas autorisés. En laisse, elle pense que oui. Pour en être sûr, pourquoi ne pas téléphoner au camping ou à la Mairie d'Erquy. Ils sont très sympa. Ils vous donneront l'information la plus fiable qu'il soit. Bonne journée.

Hi everyone. I will be visiting Erquay and Sables d'Or in 10 days time with my family (2 children ages 3 and 5). Does anyone have any suggestions for family orientated cafes or other eateries? Also, which of the beaches are most accessible with young children? Any recommendations about visiting this area with young children would be greatly appreciated (e.g. museums, playgrounds, cycle hire, pleasant walks for families). Many thanks! Oliver.

Bonjour,
je vous conseille de faire une randonnée vers l’Îlot Saint Michel, c'est une très belle plage très agréable avec possibilité en empruntant un sentier de galets (pas possible en poussette) de rejoindre l’îlot Saint Michel et sa chapelle en hauteur. très belle ballade si le temps est radieux. pour se rendre à la plage saint Michel, suivre la direction les Hôpitaux puis plage St Michel (parking)
sinon une randonnée très agréable aussi, en partant du port d'Erquy, les plages sauvages (départ parking du Portuais) et suivre balisage
