Nostalgia

The visit to the museum is a reminder of things we almost forgot since childhood like the soda bottles and soft drinks. The museum varieties makes the visit interesting and fun. For new comers it will give an idea about life in Kuwait before modernisation. Overall recommended

Very Interesting Museum
Dec 2018 • Solo
This is a very nice and interesting museum in Hawally.

It has a range of exhibitions, some of which are real eye openers. Some of the exhibitions include discovery of oil, Kuwait War, Kuwait Airways etc. There are also exhibitions on history of Kuwait and how people lived in Kuwait.

There is an entrance fee, but it is well worth it.

Eclectic

An unusual collection with a items to interest all ages. There are tanks and other military vehicles in the parking lot and a large room of taxidermy. Old Arab movies and radios. A hostel. A tea room to rest and refresh in. Old documents, telecommunication equipment, pearling scales and size sorting screens, early oil exploration. The list is varied. Poke around and you will find something to interest everyone in your group.

While there iare English descriptions or ar least a caption having someone along who can translate the more detailed Arabic descriptions would be very helpful.

Good time spent for 3-4 hours

This is one of the good museums in Kuwait, which has historical artefacts, memories from Kuwait history, and many more. Being in Kuwait, one of the must visit museums.

Old Kuwaiti culture was very much similar to Indian culture, and we found lots of items, which I have seen in India as well.

Entry fee is 1 KD per visitor, It has one souvenir shop as well, where you can get fridge magnets, and many more.

Worth a visit

Enjoyed visiting Bait Al Othman during a weekend trip to Kuwait. It was a good way to spend a couple hours indoors, for a reasonable price. The museum contains a very diverse collection of all things Kuwaiti. We especially enjoyed the military equipment display outside, despite the heat. Be sure not to miss the exhibit upstairs near the wildlife museum!

It's different.

It is actually better than the exhibits at the national museum and provides a glimpse into how society used to be in the past. The mannequins can be a bit creepy though. Worth going once but I wouldn't go again.
What's amazing is the size of the house, which seems to go on and on. The aviary was particularly nice because we had a feel of how it might have felt being in a tent outdoors.

A day at Bait Al-Othman
Nov 2017 • Friends
Hi,
Though I've visited this place before, I didn't hesitate when my friend asked me to go there on our project to visit all of Kuwait's museums. The place is always updating its sections with many new things that tell the story of old Kuwait. Three new sections were added since my visit last year. The place is amazing and very well maintained. Whether you want to know how old Kuwait looked like or see different stages of the country's development stages, this museum will give you a thorough look at Kuwait's history. The tour usually takes around 2 hours. I'm not sure if a guide can be provided. I never asked. The entrance fee is 1KD. There is a small old-fashioned cafe where you can sit and enjoy hot and cold beverages...Enjoy ^ ^
