About
1- Dar Zahran Heritage Building: Attractive, historic building with a unique history. For 250 years, this building has been the property of the Ramallite Dar Zahran Jaghab family, serving as a family home, guest chamber, and the place of residence of Ramallah's" Mukhtar" (leader). It includes an art gallery, a photo gallery of Ramallah from 1850 to 1979, a souvenir shop and a Fair Trade corner selling authentic Palestinian food products, embroidery and jewelry. Visit Dar Zahran to experience a journey through centuries of Arab Christian life in Palestine. Location: Old City, opposite Arab Bank branch Al- Balad branch- Ramallah Al-Tahta. 2- Tarfidia is considered to be a historic area of great significance to Palestinian heritage in the city of Ramallah. The name Tarfidia originates from Latin, meaning faithful and sincere. This narrow valley is situated between two mountains, in which ancient Roman olive trees flourish, as well as pine, oak, eucalyptus, figs, peaches, almonds, apricots, grape vines and wild herbs such as thyme and sage. Ruins in Tarfidia indicate that it was once the site of a Roman village. In the valley there are rock carvings and wildlife, as well as "palaces" that serve agricultural purposes. Referred to as al-manatir, these are important historical monuments to the traditional lives of Palestinian society. There was also a spring of water that used to provide fresh, pure water to the area. The continued survival of Tarfidia as an authentic ecological microcosm is under threat from dwindling water supplies, urban development and competition for land. We invite you to visit Tarfidia, and to experience Palestinian cultural and historical heritage in this area.

If you are in Ramallah, make sure you visit this incredible place. Dar Zahran Heritage Building is one of the most beautiful and welcoming places I have been to. There is a great art exhibition and traditional Palestinian architecture, ceramics. We were kindly greeted by the owner of this place with coffee, tee and biscuits. I am still amazed by the incredible Palestinian hospitality.

Dar Zahran is a beautiful Palestinian heritage, museum and art gallery. We were welcomed by it’s owner Zahran who is very friendly and nice person. He made us Arabic coffee and offered biscuits while telling us about the history of the place and shared a great conversation.
Thanks you so much for the great experience! Highly recommended.

An absolute must-visit in Ramallah!
There is great art, great coffee and locally produced goods and souvenirs.
Zahran is preserving a snapshot of Palestinian heritage here and is always happy to answer any questions you may have openly and honestly (he also makes great olive oil).
Thank you Zahran for your time and hospitality!

I visited twice whilst over in Ramallah for a dance festival; once with my mother and then again with my dance company. A wonderful example of Palestinian hospitality and history and a little sanctuary in bustling Ramallah. Well worth a visit with a great little gift shop with the dancers loved!

How wonderful that the history and culture of the Palestinians is being preserved in this beautiful and charming home converted into a museum. The owner was detailed in explaining life as it was a century ago. Very informative and enjoyable. A must to-do in Ramallah.

Such a beautiful and vibrant place with the kindhearted owner. Zahran hosted us in his family house which is 250+ years old. This house has seen so much and you can feel that it’s walls remember different times.
Nicely groomed and well maintained, this building is definitely must visit.

Dar Zahran Heritage Building is a must seen if you are in Ramallah. The host is so nice and you can learn from the history of Palestine over a cup of tea and cookies. Inside there are paintings, pictures of how was life in Palestine long ago. You can also get nice souvenirs from the shop. It is a place, to learn, chat and take a break while visiting the city. Totally recommended :)
