We spent a brief moment at the Yasser Arafat Square, actually a reasonably sized traffic circle, during our time in Ramallah. This is one of two main squares (traffic circles) in Ramallah, the other is Lion' Square. The Yasser Arafat Square is a very busy place with traffic moving around it.

A water feature stands at the bottom of the monument and a flag pole with a flag of Palestine is at the top . Half way up the flagpole is a young lad climbing up toward the flag which, we were told, symbolizes the Palestinian struggle for freedom and nationhood.

Seeing the Yasser Arafat Square is an interesting experience.

Interesting Landmark in the heart of Ramallah. The area is busy with cars and pedestrians. Few reasonably prices restaurants around the area.

Nothing extraordinary, but if you want to see the daily life of Ramallah, head there - a very lively area, with many shops and cafes.

In Yasser arafat square or what was called Maydan Alsaa, in Arabic, which means the time square in English, share there was a tower holding an old clock, this place reminds me always of Ramalla, and because I travel everyday through this lovely place, cause I can’t have my day without going there, besides the presence of too many people in this square in certain occasions.

This square used to be called al-Sa'a (clock) square. In fact most people still know it as that. There's truly nothing special about this place. it is congested with people and vehicles and there's a monument in the middle of it.

That's the skinny of it.

You walk past this as you wander around Ramallah. There is nothing particularly special about it. Lots of shops nearby.

Busy streets radiate from the flagpole with a figure of a young boy raising the flag. During the first and second intifadas young people competed to see who could raise the most flags. You'll likely pass it on your wanderings around downtown Ramallah, worth a few minutes to stop and consider its meaning.
