This is a very modern, fully accessible site which offers three elements. Firstly the monument to Yasser Arafat, a modern homage with clear sleek lines, secondly the preserved offices and living quarters of Arafat and his team during their forced stay there in the early 2000's.
The main attraction is the museum. The exhibitions are placed on two sides of a long sloping corridor that takes visitors through the history of the man and the Palestinian people. The frequent videos are accessed by a hand held headphone system which is frustratingly unreliable and kept failing to load. They need to sort this out. The museum tells its own version of the last 100 years or so but this is a very partial version and would not pass as balanced.

Museum does a great job in laying out the history of the PLO and Palestinian cause, displaying a lot of events with accompanying evidence regarding past Israeli transgressions and the international relationship with Yasser Arafat. From an observer standpoint obviously they will have their own biases throughout, but very worth to see the perspective.
Additionally it was very cool to be able to see the bunker in which he hid in during the encirclement of this compound by Israeli forces.

Highly recommend!
I went mid-April 2022, and I regret only that I did not allow myself more time. I hope to go back.
The museum is very professional and historical. If you are a student of history, and you want to read each description for each piece of evidence, allow more than 2 hours. There are 6 "halls' of material, such as photographs with descriptions.
The Yad Vasham Museum is in English and Hebrew and not Arabic. The Yasser Arafat Museum is in English and Arabic and not Hebrew. How I wish more people went to both museums.

You will see Arafat's tomb by the museum. The story I was told is that he wished to be buried in Jerusalem but the government of Israel did not allow it, so the tomb is sitting there in a temporary basis hoping Israel authorizes moving the tomb to Jerusalem. It is a modern museum with extremely helpful and polite staff and very informative exhibits. Includes video exhibits and interactive elements besides the portraits on the walls. You will learn the Palestinian struggle history and the character of Yasser Arafat and his history. Interesting to the see the actual rooms and items from the time when Arafat was under siege. It takes approx. 2-3 hours to finish all sections of the museum. Entrance fee is 5 NIS and the headphones are given for free but you need to provide an I.D. which will be returned when you return then. Please note that the museum opens at 10:00 am daily and is closed on Mondays.

Arafat's tomb greets you before the museum. It is a modern museum with extremely heplful and polite staff and very informative exhibits. The history of the region and the conflicts make for sobering viewing. The part of the compound where Arafat spent his last years are preserved and open to visit.

The display arrangement is the most beautiful in this museumÙˆ Information is dated by chronology. different ways to show history of Palestine . it is a good idea to use audio guide there. you can see the photos of the people who affect the history of this Area. videos.. and some original Documents related to Palestinian critical events.
Some poetry and pictures of the Nakba. finally you will see The siege rooms (actual rooms) that happen to the previous Palestinian president. this will let you feel like history repeat it self. Entrance fee 5 Nis about 1.5 Usd.
the history informative in general. if you want to see every thing you will need at least 3 hours.

As a frequent visitor to the Middle East and one who has traveled Israel, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, and several other Arab nations, I was impressed to find that the Arafat Museum was extremely factual and without bias. The past and current political situation is well presented and is displayed in an interesting and stimulating environment. The museum itself is easily on the level of any quality museum one would find in the West. The grounds are immaculate and well kept. The staff is helpful and informative. The exhibits are presented in a logical and enlightening way. We were surprised that it did not feel like propaganda but rather like any good historical museum. Highly recommended and well worth a visit!

This place is brilliant if you want to learn of the history of the Palestinians. If you are in Ramallah, you must visit. If you want to get the best value, spend about four hours.

Highly recommend this place for people with very little knowledge of the history of the occupation. You will get a very different perspective than history museums in Israel, though I found the exhibit remarkably balanced and thoughtful. There are also other amazing exhibitions, such as Palestinian women artists, that I really enjoyed.
