About
Between mountains and sea, sun and Wind become one... The "Grande Cave" of terres des Templiers is astonishing. Everywhere here you feel the kinf of magic carefully preserved by nature and men in balance between ligth and shadow. After watching the movie "The legend of the great banyuls" your guide will tell you the story of this unconventional vineyard, from the vinification to the aging methods used by our winegrowers. Walk along the centuries old casks, charmed by the atmosphere and the smells. Finally, stroll along the red barrels aged in the open and feel the sensations of the banyuls either crushed by the summer sun or bitten by the winer winds

We were treated to a pesonalised tour around the Terres des Templiers which was engaging and interesting throughout. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable about the banyuls and wine making process and at the end of the tour suggested which banyuls we would like to try. The quality of the banyuls was fantastic and I would recommend anyone go and taste what they have to offer

We weren't quite sure what to expect really, just wanted to do some wine tasting, but this was much more than that and it was very enjoyable! Our guide Michel was lovely, very interesting and informative, and made our afternoon into a real experience. (And I'm not sure why, but we didn't have to pay any €5 charge for an English tour as others have mentioned so maybe they've stopped that?) And then to cap it off, when we realised we'd talked so long that we'd missed the last bus and they couldn't get a taxi to come for us, Michel drove us to the train station himself!! Just can't thank him enough :)

Still amazed by being surrounded by 2 million litres of wine! Interesting tour, delicious tasting just wish we had more room in the suitcase!- the grating hard sell was not necessary with such delicious wines.

Very informative tour about the history and the wine making of the Banyuls & Vins de Collioure. The tour is FREE. Wine tasting at the end of the tour, with opportunity to purchase, these limited production awesome wines. Highly Recommended.

The corniche road that runs from Collioure to the Spanish Border is one of the great roads of France, in my mind surpassing the Corniches of the Cote D'Azur. The real bonus is that when you stop in the car park at Cap Cerbere (just inside the French border) is a shed-Cave where you can buy one of the areas finest wines - Banyuls Traditionelle is my choice - like thick sticky sherry but better, The gentleman that served us today was a real delight who let us taste what we wanted. A superb wine.

We had a very friendly guide was happy to answer all of our questions. Good information about the wines and parings. We were are group of 3 and tasted 6/7 wines each.
It's just a few minutes away from the sea as well, so you can include this as part of your day out at the sea side.

Our family - children included - enjoyed the informative tour. Our guide answered questions patiently and with a sense of humor (in English). He made it enjoyable for our children, aged 12 and 10, as well. There was a place for the kids to play while the adults did the wine tasting. Overall, a very enjoyable tour.

we went here after being recommended by our campsite. When we arrived we made our way to reception where we waited for the receptionist to finish here conversation on her mobile. It was obviously important as se had very little time for us. we asked about a tour on english and were told no. We asked if we could look around and again the answer was no. we could of course sample the wine and buy some. we went to see how wine was made and bottled not to buy wine although no doubt we would have bought some after the tour.
total time 10 minutes 5 minutes waiting for the receptionist to get off her phone an 5 minutes to be told nothing available and walk back to the car.
If you want to try the wine and buy a few bottles this would be the place to go.
if you want a tour on english to quote the receptionist "no".
I hope your experience is better

I booked a tasting and had requested an English tour if possible. When we arrived, they were not aware of the tour request and said they could only do a tasting. The tasting room is spacious, but there is no view of anything, no windows to the grounds. With the tasting, we were able to taste many wines, but we got no information about the winery, about the region, about the winemakers, or anything except the flavor notes in the wine and what food pairings might work. We felt like we were in a wine store with a high expectation to taste a few wines and then pick some to buy, and not visiting a winery. At the end of the tasting, after I'd purchased several bottles (we might have bought more but they told us at the end they could not ship to the US and had no info on how we could do that through a third party), I asked again if we could see any of the grounds at all. The host said she could show us one room. She let us into a room with giant wine casks, but it was clear all we could do was step in. She told us nothing about the room. I asked how old the casks were and she said 200 years -- very interesting, and I'm sure there would have been a lot more interesting information to go with it if someone was willing to share it! I thought about complaining or pushing again for a tour (a French tour was starting and we would have happily tagged along on it!), but you never know if the person you're talking to is just following instructions and doesn't deserve your complaints. So we left. They did have a small "kids area" -- a few chairs in front of a tv playing a movie, which we appreciated as we had a kid with us. All in all, we did like the wines, but we left very frustrated. I would not recommend.

Thank you for sharing your impressions following your visit. We are sincerely sorry that you were not entirely satisfied. We would like to bring you more information. You did not book a tour in English but just a tasting in English “if possible” or in French. Our cellar is open every day, unfortunately not all our guides speak English and that’s why when our visitors require a tour in English they can book according to their availabilities, and you haven’t done so. We organize guided tours of our cellar during which we explain all the specificities of our region, the culture of the vines and the wine-making methods. Following the tour, we offer you to taste our 3 ‘grands Vins de Collioure, Banyuls and Banyuls Grand Crus’ and we go further into details regarding flavors and how to enjoy our wines. We regret that you did not ask to your guide to talk about the region or our wine making methods rather than food and wine pairing, that she would have happily done. For your information, no cellar in this region export their wines to the USA for very strict customs imposed in your country, and that’s the reason why our guide was not able to give you any contact details.

You can see the amazing huge barrels and learn about the difference between Collioure and Banyuls wines. You also see barrels in the sun, following the Templiers method for wine aging. At the end, you can taste different wines (depending on the period, since their production is limited), and you can buy some bottles: we were not harrassed and pushed to buy more, someone didn't buy anything at all without any problem, even if the guided tour was free (it's 5 euros in English or German, free in French). Worth the stop, even for people not especially wine-lovers.

Thank you for your greetings of the visit of our cellar. We are very glad you enjoyed the tour and tasting in English of our wines of Banyuls and Collioure. As you specify the tour that begins with a film of 15 minutes subtitled in English and continues with the discovery of our aging oak barrels, and foudre. This is an opportunity to discover bicentennial wooden vats of more than 100 000 liters and ancestral breeding techniques from the XIII century. The tasting of our three appellations Collioure, Banyuls Grand Cru Banyuls is free and will conclude the visit. We look forward to welcome you at the next opportunity
