Great and relatively quiet beach, close to Zahara de los Atunes, in Cadiz. Great for a nice long walk and a nice swim! Also, I strongly recommend to walk to the cliff and reach the lighthouse at sunset. The views are to kill for.

This is a beautiful beach, about 1km long of white sand leading down to clear water. On the day we went (April 2019) there were perhaps only 10-15 people on the whole beach. The hill immediately behind the beach has many luxurious villas and homes. We walked to the beach from our accommodation, about 1 km away, although when its not busy I am sure you can easily park - there is a small lot at the southern end of the beach, although you have to walk a short distance to get to the beach. The southern end of the beach is overlooked by the lighthouse Faro de Camarinal - built in the sixteenth century as a lookout to spot pirates and provide early warning. You can also walk over the headland to Bolonia, where there is a Roman town and a museum.

Name of this amazing beach comes from end of world war II when some german submanined fleed from the war after the german defeat and stopped at the nearby beach to buy food and scape to South America.
Besides this this is an exceptional beach at the most southern end of europe.
Worth staying and visiting.
Not crowded, very peaceful.

I've been here every Summer for the last 4 years. It's saddening to see the contrast between the beauty of this place and the absolute TRASH there is almost everywhere: on the beach and on the roads taking to it. You literally see people dumping their plastic bags on the street before leaving. My big question is: where is the State when all this happens?

Just back from two weeks in Zahara de los Atunes and while all the beaches were first class this was our favourite. Lots of space, not too many people, beautiful crystal clear water, rocks near the water line that are infested with fish for the little ones to look at and even a lad with a barrow full of beer, cocktails and pastries!
It is true that it isn't the easiest to get to, although even in August we parked close going just a little earlier, and there are no chiringuitos/hamacas, but it really is worth takin a picnic and a cooler (in case the heroic fella doesn't push his barrow along) and enjoying. Absolutely recommended.

Really beautiful and peaceful beach. Crystal clear water and not many people even in the middle of August.
Parking is the only problem.

This is one of my favourite beaches from Cadiz. Cala de los Alemanes, in Zahara de los Atunes, is just AMAZING. Relax, nature, unpolluted...

Waves are good for body boards. Sand is nice and clean coarse yellow, not a powder that kicks up and covers you. Great for children and to relax.
Very natural. Isolated in a neighborhood of high end houses. Beach access via drones stairway/paths. Parking limited. Services ZERO. No bathrooms/No showers or foot washers/ No lifeguards or places to or drink....just a beautiful beach overlooked by a lighthouse, military ruins and expensive homes. But the beauty of the beach is in just that. Not touristic, and man has only added access and some trash containers.

Escasitos.
