Great place for live music! Amazingly friendly staff, can’t do enough for you. A must if you are staying near the Gap. The two female singers that play on Friday nights are so so good! Also Thursday nights with the group! Lots of dancing going on a a really good atmosphere!

Another great live music venue. The regular band were really good but we saw them twice and it was the same set. Good night chillin and listening to music. Banks beer normally 3 for 10 bds, music normally starts about 9pm.

As we stayed very close to Red Rooster Bar formerly “Scoopies” we often stopped for our final drink before we got home. It soon became our favourite nighttime hangout! The new family running this are awesome and are just so friendly and personable you just have to love them! Always great entertainment and friendly staff. Have the fish cakes and chicken wings, you won’t be disappointed, Jarod is determined he is going back next year to see Joshie aka Babe :)

Great rum punches. Live music most nights, seating inside and out. Have visited this bar over the last few years and have always had a great night. Apparently the bar has new owners. Not sure if this reflects on the bar not being as popular as it was, as it was practically empty on nights we visited. We loved being entertained by Wayne Jackson and the Showgirls but they no longer play here. The group always packed out the bar and got people up and dancing having a good time. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will visit again next year hoping for more lively music and dancing.

Located to left of our hotel it was an ideal spot to call in on our way out and on our way back. Music nightly not always Jazz though which I personally was glad about! Friendly staff who knew what I would be drinking straight away,2 bottles of Banks!
When I go back I will be bringing a traditional Pint glass for the gentleman behind the bar.

What an awesome find. The location is convenient because it is walking distance to popular hotels and close to a wide variety of visitor amenities. It's also great for people-watching; it has that relaxed, carefree atmosphere so prevalent in Barbados.
I'm not the world's biggest jazz fan but I do appreciate fine talent in any form and I have to admit the the live bands I've experienced during my now multiple visits to Scoopie's have been superb. They have to be; Scoopie himself - the owner of this cool establishment - was a professional musician at some stage of his apparently very colorful life. So he accepts nothing but the best in the bands he hires. I love the fact that Scoopie circulates among the patrons, chatting and trading stories from around the world. This dude is quite a character!
By the way, while you're there, order the corn soup, a delicacy I had never tasted until I walked into Scoopie's. I have since been reliably informed that corn soup is more of a Trinidadian dish, so Trinis apparently go to Scoopie's from time to time to rate the corn soup as well as the music.
We love the casual elegance of this bar/club/restaurant/hangout. It might even turn me into a jazz fan if I can make a few more visits.

I went there with my jazz enthusiast father and we both loved the place. Good place to have a rum punch and relax a bit.

Scoopies is a classy place, so I suggest cooly, classy dress. You can wear jeans and shorts just keep it neat and mature. Beach attire is a no no. Basically just dress as you would anywhere where it's a classy atmosphere and 85 degrees.
