We rented a boat by this company two days ago in St. Florent. Our first stop was the beach of Lotu. We stopped the engine and the key just broke. Nobody did anything wrong, it just broke. Luckily we were able to start the engine with a small piece of key left. We had a wonderful time on the sea. We went back in time and now a terrible conversation started with the young man from the company and by telephone the owner. They told us to pay 120 euro for the broken key, unless they refused to bring back my sons passport, they had kept for deposit. Neither the company or my family knows what was wrong with the key. It broke, bad luck, nobody's fault. And we don't think that we are expected to maintain the boat. It is the owners duty. The owner called my son in law some very bad words. They refused to give back the passport so we feel we were forced to pay. We payed 100 euro (down from120). Be sure about the agreements with this company. We were told, that the deposit were meant to pay if made a damage. This was not a damage. it is impossible for us to brake a key. So something must have been wrong from the beginning. We do not accuse the owner for knowing this. It was unfortunate it happened, and therefor not the responsibility of the tenant.

Hello Miss Suzanne R, Please be sure of the adressee when pasting a new comment on TripAdvisor. Since our company has never experienced a situation such as the one you are describing, we have never rented you any boat and we never have had customers who broke the key of any boat. As far as your phone call is concerned, with the person who "rented you the boat", I would like to give you the numbers of our company +33.4.95.37.07.08 and/or +33.6.16.90.58.02. You will see that they don't correspond to the numbers. You were in communication with the day of your key incident and so the one of your boat rental company. You mistook our company for the one which is situated just opposite ours. We understand our annoyance as far as the price of the key (120€) which coasts actually 15€. After verification, please deny our comment on our compagny. DOMINIQUE PLAISANCE

The sea was a little choppy but I like it like that. Dominique assured my wife and we set off towards the horizon and a beautiful day. We took in all the coves and swam at the biggest beach and on the way back at the smallest one. We had it to ourselves until the French invaded (we live in Paris) and so swam and headed back. A thunderstorm was on the way so we raced back. Just before the storm. It was a perfect day and would do it again.
