A 19th C castle pretending to be older.
Aug 2019
This place above the railway station and easily accessible form the village is at first imposing. it is set in nice gardens with a cafe (closed when I visited) but it lacks atmosphere. It too was closed and it was not clear if you could visit. Worth a strolll through the gardens to see and to venture up the entrance flight of steps to get the view.

This castle is amazing, the park around is beautiful and peaceful. The visit worth it. I've really enjoyed to visit this place and surroundings.

I paid many visits between 14-20th Sept. 2014 whilst my husband was attending an International Scientific conference at the castle. Beautiful old castle. I'll let my photos convince you.

Many locals walk their dogs on the grounds. Peer over the walls and you'll see the train tracks alongside. You'll also get a clear view of the ocean from the upper floors balcony.
On the eve of the 18th. I ran across a wedding in progress. It was fun to watch all the merriment and fuss over the wedding photography.

Absolutely interesting to see from the architectural point of view. Beautifully restored, especially the building itself. I sat there about 1 hour and tried to imagine the life style in those days, with the tirreno sea a few metres away, in the middle of a large Pineta (pine trees), and above all:
not too many people around!
