Pleasant shady area with views of the sea. Nice for a stroll. Nothing special - don't go out of your way to see it.

A lovely park with a market and many attractions. Especially good for children. You can play crazy golf, use the playground, ride on merry-go-rounds or buy ice cream.

Lovely park to wander around during the day or in the evening, with a good bar and ice cream place. There are a few activities for children.

The "Pineta Marradi" is a landmark and a reserve of urban green space that makes even more enjoyable this pretty seaside town. This pine grove occupies a large area between the Castiglioncello railway station and the high rocky coast, and is arranged as a public garden. From it you can proceed either north or south side, through two pleasant promenades along the sea, reserved for pedestrians.
The pine grove is named after the poet Giovanni Marradi, who was owner of a small part of it, then later enlarged. In fact Castiglioncello has become famous since the nineteenth century thanks mainly to writers or painters (such as Giovanni Fattori and Telemaco Signorini) who have stayed here.
One of the bathing establishments, on the edge of the pine grove, is well recognizable as a set of a scene from the famous film "The Easy Life" by Dino Risi (1962, in Italian "Il sorpasso"), with Vittorio Gassman and Jean-Louis Trintignant. In fact along this coast were some scenes of the film, until the tragic end.

Vast pine forest mostly of maritime pines (but there is no shortage of other species, such as holm oaks and cedars) which extends in the south-eastern area of the town, from the railway station to the sea, arriving, towards the west, at the base of the promontory, from where then the beautiful walk along the Alberto Sordi seafront begins. The eastern area of the pine forest outside the summer months (when the parking in the football field is activated) is open to the transit and parking of vehicles; It's a shame that on Sundays this transforms this area of the park into a bedlam of cars parking everywhere, even outside the permitted spaces, with the continuous carousel of vehicles looking for a place: on the other hand, given the shortage of parking spaces and the large turnout of the public, it is a necessary evil, because you have to leave the car somewhere. Apart from this, the rest of the pine forest is enjoyable, with lots of shade (but also some clearings), long paths for walking, benches, panoramic terraces that offer splendid views of the coast and with ladders for descending onto the cliff or onto the beaches, games for the small ones (including a horse carousel), bars and refreshment points in general; the pine forest hosts the tennis club and Villa Celestina is also located here.
