- lakelover908Kendal, United Kingdom1,143 contributionsGreat WineryWe visited this winery for wine tasting and tapas. Also olive oil tasting. The taps were very tasty and the 10 of them were served on a wooden board. Many bought wine after the tasting as some bottles were very reasonably priced.Visited September 2022Written September 17, 2022
- must_travel_soon_10Mississauga, Canada1,656 contributionsKnowledgeable StaffThe server was sommelier like in his knowledge and was very passionate about the winery. Had flight of wines and it was not to my palate's liking. The cost was equivalent to ordering glasses of wine, so not inexpensive. Unaccustomed to tastings where the cost is so high, as usually there is no fee. I don't understand why Anthony Bourdain praised this winery so much, overrated in my opinion.Visited October 2022Written November 12, 2022
- Norm3 contributionsFantastic Dining and Wine Tasting ExpericenceMy wife and I enjoyed a late afternoon food tasting with wine paring at Bibich Winery on Tuesday May 31, 2022 and it was FANTASTIC! We ate at many fine restaurants while in Croatia including, Pellgrini, and Monte, but while they presented beautiful dishes they lacked the intense flavors that Bibich's chef Vensa was able to present to us. Her dishes looked amazing and tasted even better with an excellent wine paring with each dish. Also our waiter stayed by us for the whole meal expertly explaining each and every dish and wine. This meal was the HIGHLIGHT of our Culinary tour of Croatia. We highly recommend Bibich Winery and thanks for a great tasting experience.Visited May 2022Written June 5, 2022

From the beginning of our experience at BIBICh it was special. The owner and famous winemaker was a kind and friendly host. He truly sets the tone of this winery as a family environment. He treats his staff like family and employs young men and woman from the local community. When experiencing at BIBICh you truly feel like your getting a true taste of the rich gastronomy and wine scene that Croatia has to offer. Our wonderful hostess Jelena was very helpful, informative and couldn’t have treated as any better. She told us the history of she and her family as well which was invaluable. Luka, one of the servers was also very kind and a delightful host. What really adds to the family atmosphere is that the owner's wife creates delicious and creative food pairings with your wine tasting. This family like is only boosted by the owner's daughter working there as well. All in all the wine, the innovative food pairings and the delightful staff are nothing short of a national treasure as well as must for any traveler wanting to experience Croatia.

This is one of the best wineries I’ve been to, not merely in Croatia, but in the world. We tried almost every wine they offered and most were exceptional, while a few were merely excellent. Service was thoughtful and the settling lovely. We also had some tasty meats and cheeses as a snack.

We booked the 7 course wine and food experience at Bibich Winery and it was a highlight of our trip to Croatia. We had a driver take us there from Split as it is a bit of a distance. Our hostess Jelena was delightful and and we also met the owner Alen. The wines were all fantastic but the food pairings were delicious and “works of art!”

What a lovely afternoon we spent at Bibich Winery. We had the most knowledgeable young lady take us through 11 tastings of food and almost as many wines. We loved everything. Beautiful surroundings and lots of care and love goes into the food preparation. Our favorites were the Brut, Debit and Bas de Bas. It is obvious why Bibich came so highly recommended. You may also purchase bottles to take home!

A magical experience from the very beginning, we were given a warm welcome at the door. Our waitress Carla made our evening special and was extremely knowledgable. The dinner and wines were outstanding. And unexpectedly my partner proposed, they made sure that the moment felt special. Ensured our wine glasses were filled and had beautiful flowers to give to me. They were very accommodating and took us out to the terrace to watch the sunset. We bought wine to take home from their lovely shop and got gifted sparkling wine from our waitress. I can’t thank you enough.

We came across this place at the last minute, and we are so glad we did.
At this charming place we had the local wine tasting, we were not disappointed. Our host was charming and knowledgeable.
We also ate here - there menu is limited but food is fantastic.
Well worth the detour if you're driving to Split or even as a side trip.
We had a wonderful time drinking wine, in the sun surrounded by lovely gardens and wonderful people

First time visit to the Bibich Winery. went for the four course menu. WOW the food was amazing. The stories behind the servings was great. The location was easy to get to just off the freeway. I would highly recommend a visit if your visiting the region.

Information about the winery is quite limited so I took a chance to visit. I did however try every way I could to contact the place. No one picked up the phone so I ended up finding their page on Facebook and I did get a reply there. Information was still not that forthcoming however. I asked if I should book and what the procedure was and if there was food but all I got was the opening hours... I gambled on a taxi there (it is quite a way up in to the hills, marvelous views en route but expensive from our hotel on the coast) and on our arrival we told the cab driver to return 2 and a half hours later before we knew what we were letting ourselves in for. When we were there we were told that it was just a shop and the seating area for the wine tastings was fully booked! Not one to be defeated we selected a wine tasting selection and sat on the bench outside. The party that arranged for the proper experience came and went in our time there. However, the owner came out several times to refil our glasses and provide some nice nibbles. Both him and the staff were very friendly and a bit perturbed with our decision to spend such a long time there, but then if information had been provided we perhaps wouldn't have gone as it was an awfully long way just to pop in for a glass of wine, even as nice as the wine was. Anyone wanting to go should make sure you pre book the full experience in advance, double check the information and make sure you think its worth the trip. There will probably be closer places to your stay, as nice as it was up in the mountains, its a shop not a vineyard and it's hard to kill time there to be worth the cost of a long journey there if you're not staying close by.

When faced with traveling from Rovinj in the Istrian peninsula to Split, there are 3 logical spots to break up the trip - Zadar, Plitvice Lakes ... and then there's Bibich Winery in Plastovo/Skradin. We picked Bibich, and over a period of 2 hours, we were served approx 12 small dishes and tastings of 5 white and 5 red wines. Per the title of this review, it was a spectacular wine and food extravaganza. The cook is Mrs. Bibich who favors molecular cooking, so the food is not just delicious, it's inventive, it's a show and it's full of surprises, right down to the cute dishes used. Simon and Anna served and explained everything we ate and drank with great cheer and gusto for what they do. The wine needs no further accolades since it already has much on record - unlike Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations episode on Croatia which included this winery, you do need reservations here (email them: balinho@net.hr) - get them early since it's a small place. Croatia has a lot of really good wine all over, but the combination food and wine experience here will be a highlight of your time in Croatia. (Tip: to really enjoy yourself, book a car transfer so you don't have to drive!)

Are you open on Sundays just for wine tasting? Do you have to book in advance for wine tasting? Thanks.

I was with a wine tour group but I believe it is necessary to book ahead of time, especially if you want to eat there. It's not a very large place.

Hi everyone. I'm planning a wine trip to the Balkans in June and Bibich is on the list but I'm asking which medium did you use to book the wine tasting ? Their website is merely an email address - did this work for you ? How were you informed about what the tasting options were ? And finally do you happen to know if they are open on Sundays ? Any information on this gratefully received

Same question as the previous one ! How easy is it to visit Bibich Winery using public transport? (We also plan to visit Krka National Park).

Hi,
We were both to Bibich Winery and Krka National Park but with a rental car. It might be possible to go to Krka with public transportation but the winery might be harder. May be some local bus but I don’t know about that, sorry. Ask Bibich.
