- Hannah M1 contributionGreat, but you have to pay for the drivers pots.Had a fantastic tour! We were the only ones on the tour, and since we have been to many distilleries they were able tailor the information on this tour to give us more details about how their process and equipment is different from other distilleries, as well as the process of blending. The only downside was being charged for the drivers pots. Having been too many distilleries all over Scotland, I was a bit taken a back at being charged for the tasters for the driver as this has always been free at the other distilleries. We got the basic same packaging for the drivers pots for free from the distillery we went to the day before which was also the same price for the tour.Thank you very much for your review! We are so glad that you had a good time with us and pleased that you enjoyed a more tailored experience. We appreciate your feedback on the drivers packs. We are currently reviewing our policy on them and so your input is valuable to us.Written February 8, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2023Written February 7, 2023

We were hosted by Alice and she was wonderful. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. A historical distillery in a beautiful setting. A very enjoyable time spent there; the whole site is just lovely even with some construction work taking place at the time. It's very nice to be able to create your own blend (be it a blended malt or not) and check out all the different flavors and spirits. - Chemyn RGrapevine, Texas315 contributionsFantastic experienceWe live in Scotland, so we have done many distillery tours over the years. This one definitely stands out as being one of our absolute favorites. The distillery itself is beautiful, and one of the oldest in Scotland (1786 I believe). What really made this tour outstanding was our guide, Carys. She gave an extremely informative tour, and was also very entertaining. We learned a lot about their whisky and about Chivas, and laughed a lot while we were doing it! I highly recommend this tour. Fantastic whisky as well! Really enjoyed the tasting!Visited June 2023Written June 28, 2023

- Christine R1 contributionThe best distillery we have visitedOur visit with our friends to Strathisla Distillery today was excellent in every way, especially the guide, the lovely Briony who gave us all a knowledgeable and humorous presentation. The Distillery is very interesting and full of character, the tastings were well organised and thoughtfully arranged for samples to be taken away for those those who wished to. Thanks to all the staff for a grand tour.Visited July 2023Written July 25, 2023
- skyeviews1Isle of Skye, United Kingdom3 contributionsA superb experienceMy partner and I spent a really enjoyable afternoon at Strathisla on Tuesday 1st August. Our guides, Briony & Cassie, were perfect, they were friendly, knowledgeable and so enthusiastic about the brand and the product, we both had such a good time. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Strathisla even if you are like me and don’t like whisky. We both learnt so much about the process of whisky distilling and my partner also really enjoyed the wee drams. The whole experience was informative and fun. Strathisla…your staff are a credit to you and represent your company superbly. Thank you to everyone that made our time there so enjoyable.Visited August 2023Written August 5, 2023

We were slightly disappointed by our visit to this distillery as we had been told we would be getting a tour and in fact could only do a tasting (due to current Covid restrictions). We also had to stand round a really large table for the duration of the tasting which took away any social aspect of the event. We also thought that this was quite pricey (particularly in comparison to another distillery we visited earlier in the day) at £20 for three very wee drams. However, our host was very informative and answered all our group's questions.

Hi Mick and Sally,
I am sorry that you were disappointed not to see our production areas, our old distillery is just to small for this to be possible at the moment.
We are striving to make tastings as convivial as possible while groups are kept physically distant and welcome any suggestions our visitors can offer to help us achieve this. The tasting you experienced is a bespoke offering unique to groups travelling with your tour operator and I will contact them for further feedback.
I hope that you will be able to visit again in the future when we can offer our full range of experiences including distillery tours, if so please do get in touch directly to let us know you are coming.
Thank you for feedback, kind regards
Jenna

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. The walking tour led by Donnie was fun fact filled and a great source of local knowledge history and folklore. Elements of Halloween were included ! The whole experience was very memorable and the setting around and about the beautiful buildings was not diminished by the dull day. The river Isla and autumnal colours more than compensated. The group was small and as such very personal. The adults were all given the gift of two miniatures wrapped in tissue. As such the value was excellent and the shop was another treat to end a perfect couple of hours. Alice was very friendly and helpful. We left feeling that we had made a new friendship with Strathidla Distillery. Totally recommend Well done to all and thank you once again

If you like an old fashioned distillery tour with bags of character then come to StrathIsla in Keith, home to the famous Chivas Regal.
Though the majority of the process is now automated, the works are still enclosed in an older building which adds t the atmosphere of the tour.
Well worth a visit

Any trip to Speyside is incomplete without a visit to Strathisla distillery. Nestled amongst the rolling hills and the charming and friendly town of Keith in the low valley of Isla, its easy to see why this distillery is one of the most photographed in Scotland.
While the distillery offers 3 tours which would tickle any Scotch enthusiasts' fancy, I opted for Chivas: The Blend- a tour which gives you a glimps into what the passionate people behind the brand must be doing at an unfathomable scale.
Upon entering this mesmerising distillery we were given a warm and friendly welcome by Claire and Alice.
The tour starts in the history room where you will get a glimps into the inspiring past of the distillery, followed by a tour of the production areas where you can witness first hand how the distillery has managed to stay traditional in its processes while balancing the increase in production capacity, a tasting of some exclusive blends in the cellar with the opportunity to draw whisky straight from the barrel and finally the opportunity to create your own blend. The latter two making this a truly unique experience.
Special thanks to Claire, our guide is extremely passionate, enthusiastic and lively which adds so much more value to visiting this already historically significant distillery. She is a natural and effortlessly paints you a picture of the Distillery's history and beautifully explains the entire production process whist taking the time to answer queries regarding to the brand or production. A special thanks to Alice as well with whom we only had a brief yet in-depth conversation about production.
Claire and her team are committed in making this a memorable experience and this tour has indeed been one of the most extraordinary experiences me and my father have ever had.

Phoned late in the morning asking for a tour and was provided an excellent walk round the distillery and immediate surrounds by a knowledgeable and very attentive member of the team. Interesting points of history of this ancient distillery and how it produces its marvellous whisky was provided.
The distillery itself is absolutely charming, and is idyllically set in the lovely town of Keith. The visitor shop was inviting and the displays of amazing StrathIsla whisky require a purchase.

Thank you very much for your lovely comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to Strathisla Distillery, the Home of Chivas. Our walking tour around the outside of the distillery and the surrounding area is something new, as we cannot take our visitors into the distillery to see the production areas at present due to Covid 19 related restrictions. With best wishes

We did a private blending experience at Strathisla Distillery in Keith, a beautiful and historically-important distillery that has long been the home of Chivas Brothers. They have made a fun blending experience with a knowledgable guide in the newly-upgraded visitor facilities.
After that, we got to do a private premium warehouse tasting of some absolutely amazing and unique drams, none of which are available commercially, this was a real highlight. Cask strength samples of Chivas 18yo, Rare, 25yr, and Ultima were truly sublime and not available anywhere at any price!

Due to COVID-19 it was necessary to book a private tasking, which in the event was 4 people plus a very knowledgeable guide. This was an informative and entertaining hour of whiskey history, stories, tasting, blending and enjoyment with samples on the day and to take away.
Other reviews have suggested that there is no shop, which is inaccurate. The shop is well stocked, prices reasonable and staff are extremely helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit under the excellent guidance of Norman. He took us through history in a highly engaging manner, throwing in interesting details about both the estate and interesting persons. This was finished with a visit to a warehouse and tasting of a nice set of representative whiskys. Man y thanks for this, well worth the visit!

After visiting 15 distilleries, we weren't sure we could be impressed...we were wrong! We booked the warehouse tasting and were completely blown away. Claire gave us the most incredible experience of our entire whisky tour (18 distilleries) of Scotland! What makes this so unique is you get to draw the whisky yourself from the casks using a copper dog. I can honestly say the whisky was wonderful from start to finish...rarely do the initial drams hold up...these did. Even got to try some 30+ year olds. Claire was so fun, so kind, so engaging, we couldn't help but post this review (which we rarely do)!
Do yourself a huge favor, if you love whisky, book the warehouse tasting and ask for Claire. Just might make your whole trip!

Booked this tour mainly due to location to where we were staying, and availability, buy so glad we chose the option to blend your own whisky. It was absolutely fantastic, one of our party, the designated driver, doesn't even like whisky and had a great time. Carys our tour guide clearly had a real passion for whisky and was an absolute delight to spend over 2 hours with. We hung around after the tour spending far too much in the gift shop and drinking the best old fashioned's ever in the bar. It was a really fab afternoon, and money very well spent.

Hi, I recon not.
Of course I do not recollect of seeing any such sign but during my visit, none of the visitors had there pets with them.
There was this one group who kept their pet in their van.
I hope to have answered your query.

Hi,
There is a great little site at Fochabers just 8 miles from us. Or a little further away in Lossiemouth & Nairn about 20 & 30 miles respectively, both on the coast. Even Keith residents have caravan's in these locations that they head off to at the weekends!
We look forward to seeing you here!
