Alessandro was quick to respond to questions during the booking process. The horses were reluctant to 'go to work' at first but proved themselves to be sure-footed on the at times rocky path which slowly wound up Mt. iIice. This was definitely an intermediate and above ride with well-looked after horses (Maya and Victoria) that needed a firm hand, but were reliable and had some life in them. Alessandro took plenty of pictures and sent them soon after we were finished. I recommend Sicily Horse Riding to anyone who want a real horse experience in this rugged and beautiful part of the world.

Very good experience. We had a full day tour where we visited an extinct crater and some lovely woods. The landscape was beautiful. The horses were really nice, calm, sure footed and well cared for. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, and attributed well the horses according to our riding level. They speak English which is convenient for non Italian speakers. The guide took many pictures during the tour and sends them afterwards which is a nice touch. We had a very nice lunch in the forest, the food was very good and we had a good laugh! We mainly walked due to the very steep slopes and accidented terrain which makes the tour accessible for beginners, but also an enjoyable experience for experienced riders.

The location of the riding school is just amazing: with a view to the Etna and the sea.
The people are very professional and passionate about horses and the nature. This is very important for me!
I am taking lessons in order to do the sea&Etna trip later...
It is a marvellous experience every time I go there and I strongly recommend this place for beginners (like myself) and for experienced riders! Both to learn and to make one-off excursions.

Woke up with the need to go horse riding, grew up with horses and felt a need to get back into nature. Searched nearby and found this place, being the buffoon that I am I didn’t call ahead to book the ride, but they saddled up the horses and took us on a fantastic bush trek, not the usual walk around within a fenced in property that many other places offer. For my fiancée it was her first time on horseback, and Alessandro made her feel comfortable right from the word go, didn’t play into her fears and explained the basics. I strongly recommend this to anyone, from beginners to experienced, or to those who have lost their contact with nature. I was also told they do 6 day treks and I will definitely be going back after one of the best experiences I’ve had. Horses treated with care and respect, and plenty of room for them to run around. Personnel experienced, helpful and kind.

We booked the holiday on Sicily on very short notice - no problem for Manuela from Sicily Horse Riding.

She provided us a nice apartment close to the beach in Letojanni for a fair price, was very flexible with the riding lessons schedule as well as with our different skill levels - me who used to ride for years when I was young and now had a 7 year long break, and my newlywed husband who had never even touched a horse before.

I was most impressed with the outstanding school horses they have: all of them exceptionally well trained and clearly well taken care of. Not one of them at all comparable to all the numbed, broken school horses you would see in so many other places.

The farm itself also speaks volumes of Manuelas and her teams dedication to it - so many lovely details everywhere in a very tidy stable.

The location is by the way also perfect for great trailrides on Etna or the forests around - with a stunning panoramic view of the sea.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone - and will definitely return for a round trip around Etna - and maybe even to buy a horse from them one day ;)

P.s.: I cant compare their prices to other stables there, but seems more than fair and definitely gives amazing value for money!

The 6day trip from Castelbuono to Catania was a great adventure. Our guide Alessandro, his son and Manuela looked after us in fine style. We stayed in agritourist guest houses who all made us so welcome and provided great food. The dramatic views of Etna as we rode round the foothills were amazing.
A really good holiday - even though the weather ranged from sunshine to snow!

On vacation in Taormina, I saw an add for horse back riding and contacted Manuela, who answered immediately, first by phone later via WhatsApp. We tailored the trip with pick up at our hotel in Taormina by Alessandro who brought us to the Riding School. We actually wanted to go on Etna and meet my husband and son, who are not riding, at the cave, but you have to be min. 16 years old for this trip. Instead, my daughter (aged 10) and I went out with Alessandro for a great trip in the nearby woods. It was rather stony and uphill/ downhill, so most of the trip was walking. However, we also managed trot and galop and continued this back at the Riding place, where they have a big riding lane. The horses where well kept and they had horses in all sizes. My husband and son stayed back at the school watching the other animals: goats, ducks, rabbits, dogs and a pig. After the riding tour, Alessandro and Manuela drove us all to Etna. On the way, we stopped at the local bar, because Alessandro couldn't believe we hadn't tasted the local delicacy: Granita. A kind of ice cream, very delicious. And so nice of them to treat us!. Next stop was at the lava cave where we went all the way in and experienced totally darkness. Finally, we stopped at the crater Silvestre, walked around for as long as we wanted. They would have waited for us while we took the cable car further up, however we opted to go back to Taormina instead. A very great day with great people who treated us like friends and gave us a unique experience.

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour 'On the paths of Etna'. We left from Scuderie Archidetto (Zafferana Etnea), 30 min drive from Taormina. Our guide, Manuela, and her team took really good care of us. We were very impressed with the horses, who took us up through Mount Etna as high as 1300 meters. The views were spectacular and we went through different types of landscapes: through little villages, woods, and lava paths. As we got higher, it got a bit cooler, so it is recommended to bring a wind-proof jacket.

We left at approximately at 10 am and we got back at 5:30. We stopped several times to rest, drink water, take pictures, let the horses rest and drink ... One of the stops was for lunch in a shaded and pretty area in the woods. Renato, one of Manuela's team members, met us there and brought all the necessary things for preparing us an amazing picnic. He grilled some pork and Sicilian sausage right on the spot, and we also had a salad, bread, appetizers (olives, sundried tomatoes and Sicilian cheese) and fresh fruit for dessert. All the food was delicious, and of excellent quality. They were also very accommodating with our wheat allergy, and they even got us some amazing gluten free bread.

We also stopped to visit a couple lava tunnels. Manuela was great at explaining everything and answering our questions.
I am an intermediate/advanced rider, but my husband does not ride often, although he can trot. Most of the tour was at the walk, but sometimes we trotted. He did not have any problems completing the tour, although we were both a bit sore the next day.

We made the reservation via email and our contact was Marco. He coordinated everything very well.
We highly recommend this tour even if you are not an experienced rider but you are fit or practice other sports.

Nice views but they have to take more care of the horses. A bit of water between excursions is needed and their shoes were falling apart.

We booked a romantic Excursion in the woods of Etna and it was PERFECT ! The correspondence with Manuela was fantastic, so ready to answer questions we had and provide detailed information prior to the day.

We were greeted by the lovely Camilla and went on the ride with Alessandro.

The countryside was gorgeous, and one thing we REALLY appreciated was that Alessandro kept conversation to a bare minimum.

We go on many rides throughout the year in different countries, and, although we do understand that the guides are only being super-nice and friendly ...... some silence is always welcome so that one can appreciate the experience :)

When we got back, a lovely rustic table was set out with cold prosecco, crisps, almonds and cherries .... and a rose. Everything was so thoughtful.

It was clear to us that they absolutely love their horses and they are clearly taken very good care of. As another reviewer mentioned, LouLou, despite being well fed ... always hungry :)
