Perfect place for sun, surf, and solitude in the off season. Easy to find a quiet corner by the vegetation or on the beach to watch the waves or grab a swim. Gorgeous clear water with a few little restaurants sprinkled alongside. Parking was a...More
This beach is a bit less crowded than the popular, Grande Anse nearby. It is not a great swimming beach for small children as the waves can be high, but it has beautiful turquoise water, palm trees, shade, a shower, washrooms(bring your own TP) and...More
My family had a few great days at Plage de le Perle while visiting Guadeloupe. The beach is a picture perfect crescent shaped beach with lots of palm trees and ample shade. The beach had a nice sandy bottom and was easy to get in...More
Tidy beach, sandy sea bottom and clear water. A lovely place to spend the day, read a book under the palm tree or to watch the sunset. Not crowded, the sand is really smooth and beautiful. Also, there is a place to play volleyball.
If your looking for an uncrowded palm tree lined beach stretching for a couples kilometers, this is the place. Much more more calm than Grand Anse, there are also the usual bars and restaurants along the beach and free parking.
One of the best places...More
We immediately fell in love with this beach - the white sand and the turquois water give a wonderful scenery. During the time we where there it was not at all crowded. There is some shade underneath a few Palm trees and along the beach....More

When we were there in early August 'Humphrey's house' was surrounded in wire netting. We met a man in the lift in our hotel who said he was part of the team that built the house and he would be taking it down soon, as it wasn't allowed to stay there unless they were filming. So I would imagine it has been taken down by now and will be re-built if they film again. Hope this helps.

Yes, it was a 2 mins walk on the beach ( to your left) , you can always ask the local restaurants if unsure.

Trip Report - 5 days / 6 nights with 3 kids (3 Replies)
Just got back from 6 nights / 5 days in Guadeloupe. We flew out of JFK over mid-winter break. We bought our tickets back in June at a very good price! We have 3 young kids (7, 5.5, and 4). Day one: Flight out of JFK left on time. On check-in, they weighed our bags (all under 10kg), and then had us check them for free as the captain wanted bags checked as this was a fairly full flight. We were seated together (did not prepay for seats), left on time and arrived on time in PTP. Picked up a...More

Which part of Deshaies to stay in - without a car! (0 Replies)
I'm visiting Deshaies next year with my 13 yo daughter, and of the two villas I have in mind to stay, one is right by Plage de la Perle, and the other by Plage Leroux. The latter is much closer to the village of Deshaies, but the beach seems very small... However I'm worried we'll be a bit cut off if we go to the more northern place. I hear that there are infrequent and untimetabled buses - do you know how regular they are? And if anyone has hitch hiked around that area then do let me know,...More

Anyone familiar with Residence Simona? (1 Replies)
Hello, we are visiting Guadeloupe for our first time in April. I booked my family a house with Residence Simona. I'm a bit concerned because the location on the map doesn't seem to match the description. There are only a few reviews for this property but they are all very positive. Is anyone familiar with this property and the area? It says its very close to Plage de la Perle beach. Our friends are staying near Plage de la Petit Anse. If Residence Simona is near la Perle, do you know how far...More

I'm not familiar with Residence Simona, but Plage de la Perle is only about 10 minutes away by car from Petite Anse!
