Arch Rock is astoundingly beautiful!! It has a circular arch, which has been caused by the waves eroding the rocks, causing gorgeous swirl patterns. You can see beautiful basalt caves on the opposite side of Gatklettur. A short walk away is the statue of Bardur...More

i would save my energy for other things...i was really tired...and i think taking pictures of it would have been enough. it was also very windy and raining hard so that may have had a lot to do with my idea....of it

We had to have a picture on the rocky arch. Who knows it might crumble one day and we at least have a picture to remember it by. Just for that, this place is worth a visit. It is very windy at this place so...More

Beautiful and very interesting cliffs. Very nice stone arch. When windy, it can get quite dangerous to walk over the rocky bridge, so be careful!

Unique? kind of. Worth a stop? Sure, to stretch your legs. Not really a whole lot to see otherwise. Yeah, there's a cute viking man statue made of stone, but not much else here.

Gatklettur is a breathtaking stop full of jagged cliffs that rise out of the calm seas below. Plenty of walking and hiking trails to check this place out. Ample free parking. Not a lot of tourists.

We parked near the Bardur Snaefellsas statue and proceed to walk to the Arch Rock. The whole area is very scenic with the surrounding cliffs against the backdrop of the sea. We continued with a hike on a path linked to Hellnar. The hike though...More

The views of this dramatic basalt coastline are stunning. The waves crashing onto the coast are mesmerising and watching the abundant amount of birds nesting on the cliffs or fishing in the sea is amazing.

As far as I could tell, there is no way to hike down to the arch.
