We went for My husbands birthday and to be honest were not expecting too much but were blown away by the size of the place, the amount of deer, the knowledge and friendliness of the guys and how tame and gentle the deer were. Would highly recommend, we were on our guided tour for around 2.5 hours. Definitely take wellies, waterproofs if wet and plenty of carrots and digestive biscuits for the lovely deer. We would love to go back again some day, maybe to their open day on the 1st weekend of July.

Not charging any admission prices, this centre relies on donations only. Staff are friendly and helpful and can answer any question about the different deer species. Ideal for all ages - people need to visit this gem of a place!

Mike Gage is an amazing guy, with a truly wonderful ethic. The Deer are beautiful, and looked after so well in a gorgeous environment. Been there 3 times now, but it's not a 'turn up' entertainment venue. You must book, as this is more of a sanctuary that cares for the Deer, and operates as such. There is no charge, but give Mike or the crew a ring, book in advance, and experience something fantastic. Make sure you give a few quid though, as what they do is the bomb!

Read the reviews thinking it sounded like a lovely place to go, so we drove all the way there only to be told it’s appointment only, it also says they open from 10 am till 4pm which is also untrue. It shuts at 2pm. Very disappointed waste of time and petrol.

Researched this before our visit but could not access their website due to a virus which has planted a virus on my wife’s iPhone (not impressed) so I went on TripAdvisor reviews.
Opening hours were advertised as 11-4 and having arrived at 12 we rang the number on the gate to be told it was appt only and the group left at 1030 and we could not join so having driven 40 mins to get there we left disappointed.

This is my second visit to this amazing park , the first being on an open day. This was by far a more personal experience although both were brilliant.
We went at 6pm so just before dusk which is when deer are more active, the group of boys and girls nearly used up all their digestives in the first field, those white deer are certainly not starving!!
Mike is a local guy who has turned his passion into something amazing here. His love for the deer really shows, they all respect him and you can tell instantly they have a bond.
The walk through the various groups takes on average 1.5 hrs, it's hilly and uneven as it's basically rustic farm land so anyone who has mobility problems would not be suited sadly but we have to remember this isn't a zoo it's a sanctuary that keeps the environment as natural as possible.
Mike and his team rely on donations from the guided tours to keep this place running, the miles of fencing alone must cost a fortune to maintain. It has to be high and secure to keep deer in and poachers out.
This is an appointment only attraction you can't just turn up and wander around. It really is a hidden undiscovered place, I'm local and I knew very little about it, it's so hidden away but truly amazing. The stags are magnificent and the deer love a scratch.
Hope to make it a 3rd visit next year

I've been here 3/4 times now and it never gets boring. Mike is so knowledgeable about the deer and you can see he has a true passion for them! It's so fun learning about and stroking/feeding all the deer and getting to know them. Can't wait to go again this year :) Adore this place and would/do always recommend!

We were a family of 4 and a had a wonderful few hours with Mike, who so passionatly gives you a personal tour around his deer sanctuary. Unfortunatly, the council will not allow them to put a sign off the main road, so make sure you know where you are going, that you RING to book (they don't check their emails!) and you take a generous donation which goes towards keeping these lovely creatures fed etc. Recommended minimum £25 per family, or £5 adult, £3 child. Great day out! Toilets and Tea available there, I'd recommend taking a picnic to have there or we went to Wayford Woods, 5 mins down the road, perfect.

A great day out in an amazing landscape. A real joy to spend time with these beautiful animals. Mike's care and knowledge is truly impressive and he takes the time to answer all questions patiently. The stags in particular are stunning. Good to know such places exist.
