About
PDC is the only winery specialized in the production of Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze and is located in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the prestigious Cartizze territory. PDC rejects practices of intensive cultivation, with the aim of producing sparkling wines of the highest level. The annual production is very limited: 15 thousand bottles. Today PDC is the only organic certified winery in Cartizze: the cultivation of the vineyards and the winemaking process only follow sustainable and balanced practices. At PDC you can participate in a sensory experience, where you will learn to taste Cartizze wine through a visual, olfactory and taste analysis of the 4 sparkling versions of Cartizze PDC. The experience will continue with a short walk in the production area and in the vineyard. PDC winery organizes guided tours every day, starting at the following times: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00. Reservation is required.

We arrived there by pure accident following the nav system...be aware that the road have a very high slope if you are going from the top to them.
Still, the place is magnificent, a very modern location with a very nice host.
I had the chance to met Petro , the owner and Prosecco master-craft ; extremely kind and very professional he share with me plenty of technical details and was answering to all my questions.
We had 3 types of Prosecco ( dry/brut/bio) and from my point of view thats the best product of the region.
Cartizze is the best region for Prosseco and PDC is probably the TOP.
Warm regards to Petro and his team!

It is a nice location with views, nice ambience and, of course prosecco! They were really friendly to receive without prior booking and give an overview of the winery and wines. Prosseco was very very impressive - elegant, tiny bubbles, freshness , fuitiness and acidity well balanced.

We’re big fans of Prosecco so visiting this region was exciting for us and we were delighted with our visit to Pdc. It’s a small winery producing only the best Prosecco in the tiny Cartizze region. Our guide was exceptional and shared information and graphics in a very clear way. And the tastings and lovely food were the icing on the cake. Have joined the mailing list and looking forward to importing more of this lovely wine. Highly recommended

We were in the region for a family wedding and due to the efforts of the bride who is from the region, were most fortunate as a large family group to be able to visit Pdc Cartizze and have Pietro, the winemaker, lead a most informative seminar and tasting of his highly rated and exquisite Proseco.

As a enthusiastic fan collector of champagne, it was quite the primer on the background of Proseco and especially what defines the different levels of Proseco which unfortunately escapes most everyone. Pietro’s vineyard is in the Cartizze zone or region which gives rise to the highest rated Proseco by official designation. To put it into perspective, there are only a little over 200 acres with this designation with an annual production a bit over a 1,000,000 bottles a year. This may sound like a lot but it pales in the fact that there is more than 300,000,000 bottles of Proseco produced a year in the entire region. Thus the annual production of Cartizze designated Proseco is very small. His seminar about the Cartizze region was very detailed and yet easily to follow as he explained his passion about how he tries to utilize organic methods of vineculture as much as possible. We tasted several different types of his product with accompanying food parings and food all being very enjoyable. However, the Extra Dry and Brut were the favorites.

For those that are so called true champagne loyalists, it’s easy to take a snobbish attitude toward Proseco. Big mistake as the popularity of Proseco is a extremely fast trajectory for many reasons. Price may be a big factor as it is most affordable. However if one takes the time to understand it’s background and look for Proseco produced such as that by Pietro and Pdc, you be most pleasantly surprised. In fact, we ordered several cases for the holidays and I will be ordering in excess of 60 bottles as one of the highlights at a pre-dinner food and beverage event at my daughter’s upcoming wedding next year. I’m that confident that it will be very well received.

If your in the region or planning a trip there, make sure to make a visit to Pdc and see Pietro to have a very enjoyable and educational experience. We all had a wonderful time and ended up becoming Cartizze Proseco enthusiasts!

PDC is not only one of the best cellar in the Cartizze area, but is also a great experience for who wants to know better about this great wine. Pietro, the owner, is very passionate and speaks a great english.

PDC have a modern and well fitted out tasting room where we enjoyed our pre-booked tasting, food pairing and educational talk from Greta. Recommended for wine appreciators who would like to understand the differences between the generic “Prosecco” from the large surrounding area, the DOCG more specific and select Prosecco and the much more restricted Cartizze sparkling wine which is made in this “golden pentangle” small area. PDC are I understand the only producer which exclusively makes the Cartizze level.

There are 3 options of tours. We did option 3 which includes learning about why the prosecco hills are good to grow wine, tasting and food.pairing of the 2 wines (brut and sec) produced at the winery and a walk in the vineyards. It was informative and enjoyable. The host Pietro is passionate though does have a bit of an arrogant edge. One thing which marks them down - they served water on plastic cups. Claiming to be organic, sustainable... surely they can use glass glasses and wash them? After all they was the prosecco glasses.

I'm currently studying abroad in the nearby town of Paderno Del Grappa and this tour was one of my favorite memories of my entire trip. Pietro was so extremely knowledgable and passionate about his product- not only did I learn a ton about the Prosecco process through his insight and food pairings, but I also got to see his beautiful vineyard with a wine glass in hand! If you are near the Cartizze region, you have to visit Pietro and grab a bottle of his amazing product!
