Altea is a absolutely beautiful town situated not far from benidorm the old town is perched on a hillside with very steep streets not a walk for the faint hearted. but if you do climb to the top you will be rewarded with stunning views. we were lucky our visit coincided with both markets this was a tuesday.…

I strongly recommend taking a walk up to the center of Altea. It's worth it. If you get off the train at the Garganes stop, the walk up is mostly on the stairs and it's not hard on the back or the legs. There are several stops along the way to take pictures of the beautiful view. I have taken some that I've shared here, but my cell phone camera is not the best. Once you arrive at the center, by the church plaza, there are a couple of restaurants to sit and have a drink or an appetizer. Coming down was a different experience altogether. Visiting the small shops on this narrow street that comes down from the side of the church made me feel like I was in one of the travel show programs :) It was a very pleasant walk and experience.…

Take a stroll and enjoy gettting lost... It has a bit of a medina feel or a small Aegaeian island town atmosphere Difficult to avoid some of the tourist traps but as an experienced traveller you will know where to go Try the captain Kurt bar !

Worth going for a walk and then enjoying a dinner in the center of the village ... Any restaurant is great, lots of pizzerias and bistrots ... Just a “but” ... Too many people in the center with crowded streets, which is a little bit scary nowadays...

You could spend all day wandering the beautiful whitewashed streets of Old Town but if you keep going up the multitude of steps you will get to the Blue domed church squareThere are some bars/restaurants at the top as well as local artist displays and souvenir shops The views of the Port and all the way to Benidorm to the south and Calpe to the north are fantastic Well worth the climb and not too steep so can be taken on by older or less mobile people…
