This gorgeous, modern addition to the local landscape comes as a bit of a shock as you drive the Altea Hills area. Just how big a congregation it attracts I've no idea, but it's an incongruous little beauty which is well worth a visit.

Russian orthodox church near Altea. Very beautiful and worth a visit! The church is situated close to the mountains, and the small park on the site is nice and cosy.

Beautiful Church near Altea Hills, although when I went there it was a little bit left alone... so it was strange to enter in a place completely empty of people in the middle of "nada"... the garden is precious, and pets are not allowed...

This beautiful church and grounds are just off the N332 near Altea in the Hilla. It is open to visit but dress code applies if going inside. Enjoyed visiting.

We came across it almost by accident. Nevertheless it is very pretty and well maintained and worth a visit, if not to know a different culture, at least to look at a beautiful wooden church. Worth a stop.

In 2012 we visited the grounds, the church (an exact replica of a 17th century Russian church) was not open to public, we could have a walk-around (now open from 10-14 week days). Still very outworldish in these parts of the world - word goes...More
